Dr Lei at Lee TCM on Grove St is excellent. Very caring and gentle demeanor and very skilled with the needles. Good massage therapy there too.

I'm looking for a good acupuncturist in JC, Hoboken, or the city. I hear it's effective for acid reflux. Thanks.

The best acupuncturist in NYC is Jessica Silver. http://silveracupuncture.com/
It is a crazy coincidence that I wound up seeing her at a group practice but it is NOT me even though we have the same name, LOL.

Joseph Tonzola is located in Journal Square. http://www.acupuncturejerseycity.com/ Joseph takes health insurance (my blue cross/blue shield plan doesn't even have a co-pay for acupuncture). Joseph is very thorough. He is great at explaining everything.

I was experiencing frequent upper back/shoulder pain for a long time and I bought home acupuncture products to see how they worked. They were incredibly effective, and virtually cleared up the pain.
Maybe they will help some people here. It's a lot more convenient and cheaper than going to an acupuncturist every week. I used both the mat and the pillow, but if you only have lower back pain I think the mat would be all you need. http://www.amazon.com/BED-NAILS-1919-Mat-Green/dp/B0043QFA0W http://www.amazon.com/BED-NAILS-1921- ... 0426X4UG/ref=pd_sim_hpc_1

Can you recommend an acupuncture practitioner in downtown Jersey City (or lower manhattan?) My main concern is absolutely pristine hygiene and cleanliness.
I've been having shoulder/neck pain for quite some time, have been down the traditional routes, and am willing to give something new a try.

I've been there....here are the + and - : positive 1. They work well with almost any insurance 2. Super friendly 3. Fairly easy to get an appointment at your desired time negative 1. They seem to be a bit of a sham. Is their physical therapy really that effective or aggressive for anyone who isn't elderly or recovering from a specific acute injury? Not sure, it wasn't for me. 2. The acupuncturist didn't bother to look into my condition. I told him several weeks in a row what was wrong, the medical (eastern) diagnosis/symptoms/etc., and every week I had to tell my entire story over again. If he didn't know about it he could have googled the thing and known more at a minimum. I'd say try them and decide for yourself, first visit is always complimentary there.

I love City Acupuncture and it's not too far from the WTC PATH - it's on Fulton St, only a block or two from Broadway. They work on a sliding scale, which is nice too. Their website is cityacuny.com and from the website, it looks like they're opening a NJ office in Bloomfield too.

Arielle's Apothecary in Hoboken is highly recommended. I have been going there for a few years and it is great. They have a few different accupuncturists and also some great massage therapist. If you can get an appt with Hope (she is MIA often), she is the one of the best masseuse I have ever experienced.

I don't know of anyone in Jersey City. I've been going to Dr Jin and her husband for a decade (office is on Madison, a couple of blocks from the 33rd/final stop of the PATH):
http://www.drmingqi.com/about/about.php?pg=3 She's one of the best; that link is to her bio, and there's contact info on the site. She's very experienced in women's health. You could call the office and ask if they could recommend someone in JC. Best of luck (and lots and lots of it) to you...

I used to go to Chinatown and to Queens, but when the TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) place on Grove St (by Marco & Pepe) I had no reason to go across the river. I've gotten both acupuncture and acupressure massage there by Dr. Lee and have been pleased with her. Just ask her about the chemo specialization.Good luck w everything!

funny that i read this today. I went to one yesterday for my back! He's located in Chinatown at 128 Mott St. btwn Grand and Hester. His number is 212.334.9117. Dr. Rong- Sheng Lin.
Very good and a real place, not some hole in the wall. They do hook up the needles to an electrode, so it pulses through the needles. Feels good. Let me know if you go!

Hi - I'm wondering if anyone can recommend an acupuncturist in the area - NYC as well as around Hudson/Bergen/Essex counties. I am looking for one who specializes in chemo therapy, if such a person exists.
