Re: Home Depot - Holland Tunnel vs Route 440 location

We bought our 24 inch front loader Maytag from DT HD. We carried it home in our minivan. We bought our large LG double door icemaker fridge from DT HD. Found a better price for it at Sears on line. HD refunded us the difference.

81905, let's be clear. It is illegal for BYOBs to charge a fee. It is perfectly legal for restaurants WITH liquor licenses to charge a corkage fee. Maritime Parc and Madame Claude are both complying with the law. There is no "perhaps" or notion of following another restaurant's lead. It's the law.

81095, it is you who is missing the point. Regardless of your view of its utility, a corkage fee is illegal. That really is the end of discussion.

From the NJ ABC webpage
http://www.nj.gov/oag/abc/faqs.html

Are non-licensed restaurants permitted to allow customers to bring their own alcoholic beverages (byob) for consumption with their meals?

Unless there is a local ordinance prohibiting it, customers of an unlicensed restaurant may be permitted by the ownership of the restaurant to bring and consume only wine and beer. The restaurant can supply glasses, ice, etc., but may not impose a cover, corkage or service charge. Also, under no circumstances may spirituous liquor be permitted. There may be no advertising whatsoever of the fact that wine or beer may be permitted. Additionally, the owner may not permit wine or beer to be consumed during hours in which the sale of these products is prohibited by licensees in that municipality, nor allow consumption of beer or wine by persons under the age of 21 years or by persons who are actually or apparently drunk or intoxicated. (N.J.S.A. 2C:33-27).

A corkage fee in a BYOB restaurant is illegal, Dopeness. Please educate yourselves and don't turn off the clientele.

Yes, that is true -- I thought we were talking only about bullying and racial slurs.

Is it really relevant which group will be in the majority? This is vile behavior...period.

I am not on the inside so I cannot comment about school "culture," but it certainly appears that the school administration has taken all the right steps. They are not tolerating bad behavior.

As for the McNair culture of "academic grind", yeah, well.....when the kids who 'rule the school' are at the Intel fair and taking 5 AP courses, they don't have too much free time for bullying.

User, what are the odds that students' parents have students' cell numbers? Teachers doing this? Really? Nah, not at Prep. My children chose McNair over Prep for a number of reasons but this? No.

Brewster, I was wondering what decision your family made. Now I know.

Moronic kids, if not "turned", become moronic adults. We have enough of them already. This isn't a hanging offense, but it's not something to be ignored. Good schools don't practice 'zero tolerance'; they practice 100% response.

The articles says the worst stuff has been edited out. Wondering where the line is between protected speech and threats. We'll have to see how this plays out.

Isn't "majority" 50% + 1? More than half? Do you mean not just a plurality?

The food is really delicious but the kitchen needs to work on timing. If some people order tacos as a main course and other order large plates, there's no excuse for a waiter to tell you that some dishes will before others because we don't keep food under heat lamps. If it takes less time to make the tacos than the mole, then start the tacos later.

I will return for the food but will continue to be annoyed by this.

Proud to be a newbie/interloper -- living here only since 1987, so i guess my support for Fulop and total distate for our current administration should be discounted as I have been here for only 24 years.
