That is typical of liberals - focus on the unimportant and ignore serious issues like crime or jobs.
Is that why Republicans are so focused on this dumb bathroom thing?

Fulop clearly planned out the announcement knowing that some people would decide to go out shooting....

Uh, no. You must have missed the part that said all bathrooms will be gender neutral.

Does that mean I have to cut it off?!! Oh No!!

A couple of thoughts on this:

- how is this executive order "taking another swipe at President Trump"? Trump has gone on record stating that he feels transgender people should be allowed to use the bathroom they feel most comfortable using.

- the text of the sign to be posted ("Gender diversity is welcomed here; please use the restroom that best fits your gender identity or expression.") makes NO SENSE in light of the content of the executive order: if all municipally maintained bathrooms are now gender neutral, how is using any of them a choice based on identity or expression? Using a municipal bathroom is now simply that: using a bathroom. This is of course all about the PR, and pandering to one side of an issue, with little to no actual meaning involved.

I am sure if former Mayor Healy made this mandate, Councilman Fulop would have cried 'foul.' Why you might ask? Councilman Fulop had a constitutent who was somewhat unstable and would stalk him. The only place she could not follow him was the men's restroom. So now you are asking why don't I name her? Well, she sued the Medical Center for holding her 'hostage' for 3 days and she was suing her former medical school too so I do not want to be on another lawsuit. However, there are still people alive in the Healy Administration who knows what I am talking about. Ask Peter Brennan or Viola Richardson or other former council members, they can confirm what I am talking about. As mayor, Fulop has his own private restroom in his office so he is exempt from this mandate.

Just make sure the cubicles are secure and enclosed. Not sure how you deal with people who pee standing up while others access these cubicles .... you still need a separate 'stand and pee' zone !

I say kudos to the Webmaster for moderating in the interest of civility. We all know there are certain individuals who repeat themselves ad nauseam as if they think repeating their (sometimes-ridiculous) opinion is going convince anyone in their right mind that they should agree. In doing so, they pretty much put a target on their back and some people with too much time on their hands take the opportunity to take a cheap shot. It's only comic relief if you have WAAY too much free time (or no life).

I've been around this Forum for almost 12 years and it's really helpful on certain topics when everybody stays on point.

And on the point of Trolls, I can't believe this re-posted thread is still up after a Webmaster warning: http://jclist.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=37133

hero69 - when you write "her" you are referring to YVONNE?? How dare you, you are in violation and your post is OFF TOPIC and will be REMOVED.

Better read this answer your question quick; it will also be removed. You need to address the SUBJECT of this topic; we DO NOT want every topic to be a comedy show or BULLY FESTIVAL picking on people you do not agree with. We have seen many topics turn UGLY and go OFF TOPIC because a few anonymous posters cannot control themselves.

There are 2 previous topic that BASHED yvonne, this is NOT going to be another.

Fulop orders gender-neutral restrooms in city buildings

By Terrence T. McDonald | The Jersey Journal

JERSEY CITY -- Taking another swipe at President Trump, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop yesterday issued an executive order declaring all bathrooms in municipal buildings to be gender neutral, a signal of support for the transgender community.

Fulop's order requires a sign at any bathroom maintained by the city saying, "Gender diversity is welcomed here; please use the restroom that best fits your gender identity or expression." The two-page document is the 41st executive order of Fulop's administration.
