The funny thing about these new bathroom rules is that it was city/state law that mandated (and I suspect still mandates) separate male and female bathrooms to begin with.
Restaraunts, bars, stores and establishments in general, would in most cases be only too happy to spend less space and effort maintaining one bathroom instead of two. Robin.

Somehow I don't think Fulop would be so brave to do this if he was still running for Governor. But it does pander to his base in JC for his mayoral run.

A couple of thoughts on this:
- how is this executive order "taking another swipe at President Trump"? Trump has gone on record stating that he feels transgender people should be allowed to use the bathroom they feel most comfortable using. - the text of the sign to be posted ("Gender diversity is welcomed here; please use the restroom that best fits your gender identity or expression.") makes NO SENSE in light of the content of the executive order: if all municipally maintained bathrooms are now gender neutral, how is using any of them a choice based on identity or expression? Using a municipal bathroom is now simply that: using a bathroom. This is of course all about the PR, and pandering to one side of an issue, with little to no actual meaning involved.

As per King Steve "Gender diversity is welcomed here; please use the restroom that best fits your gender identity or expression."
So as a male, I can use the women's room any day that it "fits my expression". How grand. Why aren't women up in arms about this?

I am sure if former Mayor Healy made this mandate, Councilman Fulop would have cried 'foul.' Why you might ask? Councilman Fulop had a constitutent who was somewhat unstable and would stalk him. The only place she could not follow him was the men's restroom. So now you are asking why don't I name her? Well, she sued the Medical Center for holding her 'hostage' for 3 days and she was suing her former medical school too so I do not want to be on another lawsuit. However, there are still people alive in the Healy Administration who knows what I am talking about. Ask Peter Brennan or Viola Richardson or other former council members, they can confirm what I am talking about. As mayor, Fulop has his own private restroom in his office so he is exempt from this mandate.

 Just make sure the cubicles are secure and enclosed. Not sure how you deal with people who pee standing up while others access these cubicles .... you still need a separate 'stand and pee' zone !
