They have Galaga and Joust at the Brooklyn one, so I'm going to assume yes. Not Street Fighter though, that's 16-bit.

I'm looking forward to Spy Hunter and Donkey Kong.

actually street fighter arcade came out in 1987, therefore it falls under barcade's requirements "we will have 33 games, all from the 1970′s and 1980′s only." second time you made me be a nerd in this thread!
haha. well I suppose, but I think their restrictions are actually on 8-bit games, and not really the date.

According to the wikipedia article, the TMNT arcade game was released in 1989, so there's a chance it'll show up.

In the way of beers I hope they have Climax - tried their beers the other week and they were quite delicious (and potent)!

I'm excited for a new business in town but majorly bummed that they won't have pinball. I'm not much of a video game person (love pinball) but I am hoping the beer selection alone will be enough reason to keep on going back.

I think it's snobbish to be so judgmental of them because of their video game choices before they even open.

Making a hard cutoff at 1990 seems a bit snobbish to me - most of the games I'd be most excited to play are more from the early 90's era. I'm detecting faint odors of Taqueria from Barcade and they're not even open yet.

We are not officially announcing our game lineup but we will have 33 games, all from the 1970′s and 1980′s only. Expect about half of the titles to be different from the ones in Brooklyn. We will not have any pinball machines or anything other than classic video games from those years. Our address is 163 Newark Avenue at the corner of Barrow St. We will be open daily at 12pm, closing at 2am on weeknights and 3am on Fridays and Saturdays."

Anyone know if they're still planning to serve food, and if so how late the kitchen will be open?

All I know is that I saw Punch Out when I looked through the window last week. I don't care if they don't even have a liquor license - I'm there!

Saw them unloading a few more games out of a delivery truck this afternoon - getting close!!!

Is it too much to hope for Mortal Kombat and/or Primal Rage or are those games too 'modern' for Barcade?

Looks like some signage is going up soon. They were filling the holes from the old signs today.

Ugh I know the feeling. I live across the street from the place and can see how far along it is every morning. A couple weeks ago I saw them wheeling in some arcade cabinets late at night. One had a hamburger on the side...please speculate.

It's definitely getting close. they've got a lot of the internal structure built out (including the bar!!!) and there are rows of games set up against the wall, and some cool shutters on the windows.

I walk by every day and press my fat, thirsty face up against the glass. Can't wait!

I have a photo from Friday on my (somewhat defunct) blog. Still, they've definitely been making progress!

I disagree, crujones. I saw a guy watching a football game on his phone at Marco and Pepe. When his team scored, he threw his arms up and smashed one of their pendant lights. If there were more places with TVs, he could have gone to one of those and this wouldn?t have happened.

In fact, maybe M&P should put in some TVs and get rid of those pesky pendants which would undoubtedly block the view anyway. I think I might start tipping with Best Buy gift cards when I go there.

Games are just 25 cents btw. Not like a lot of bars that rip you off with 75 cents for a game of pacman.

I love the local beer only thing.

I have to say, I'm kind of excited about this place. I haven't played a video game in about 15 years, but I used to love going to arcades as a kid, and I vividly remember some real classics.

At the VERY least, it'll be good to have another nightlife establishment in the neighborhood.

Seems to be getting close to opening, but I guess nobody has any specific details as to the opening date?

Also, I know this is a themed bar, and obviously not a sports bar, but will there be any TVs?
