I liked Skin Organix a lot, Walkers not so much but now i LOVE Lola- from Caprice beauty Bar. She is on Jersey Ave (previous store Fish with Braids) Her number is 201-961-5571. She is really good with txting/calling.
Lola is the best ever. She takes her time to explain the entire process to me, she always tells me what she is doing ahead of time, how it's going to feel etc.
Her place though small is clean and tastefully decorated. She takes one client at a time, no waiting etc.

Caprice Beauty bar is a great addition to the neighborhood and I recommend anyone considering a facial or waxing to go to her, you won't be sorry.

Now that Walker's has moved to the city, where do JCListers like to go for spa facials?

I've heard from someone who knows Michelle (of Skin Organix) well that she's coming back. She's going to be opening a similar store but with a different twist sometime early next year. I'm excited - I've missed the access to her products and her spa services.

I had my first facial at Walker's today. It may not have been exactly 60 minutes, but the facial was so good that she didn't need the full 60...and she had a few minutes to chat for a few minutes after. In the places I've go to where it's a full hour, the woman leaves you alone for 20 minutes.

I will go back.

I go to Walkers regularly and I must say I haven't recalled how long the facial are actually are. I will make a note next time though.

With Skin Organix gone, I was looking for a new facial place and was eager to try Walker's. I went Sat and gotta say, I was disappointed. The actual facial was good but I'm 99% sure it only lasted about 45 min (I recall the times when I turned off/on my phone) and that was with her leaving for 10 min. Anyone else have this? I didn't bring it up after cause I didn't feel like getting into it and because I knew it came so highly recommended. But a 60-min facial I expect to last 60 min.

Update on my ongoing search for a good facial in downtown JC: I made an appointment with Lynda, who was on the staff at Skin Organix before it closed. She's currently doing facial treatments in her own studio in JC. I was very happy with my experience there. The facial was very thorough and personalized, and the price is quite reasonable. I definitely plan to return. Just passing this information along...

You can contact Lynda through her website:

I'll second the recommendation for Walker's in Downtown. I've been going there for a few years now and Shalea is amazing! Not only are the services terrific but the prices are extremely competitive. I've been to a number of places in Manhattan and Hoboken but will recommend Walker's over them!

... and now I'm back, wondering... does anyone know where Lauren (former Skin Organix facialist) might be working these days? There was a rumor that she'd switched to a day spa in Hoboken. I'd like to track her down... thanks.

I had a wonderful facial with Lauren at Skin Organix. She really listened to my concerns and she figured out exactly what my skin needed. I didn't experience any irritation or bad after-effects, and she didn't push me to buy products. (Then again, I do enough shopping at Skin Organix to begin with!)

Not sure about JC but I reccommend Marma Day Spa in Hoboken (about 14th St and Washington). Make sure Najat is the one giving the facial. She is amazing!

Worth the price! You feel like a whole new person!

I try to go every 6 mos and have taken several of my friends. Everyone loves it.

Definitely Spa H located in the fitness center Club H. I have
gone there for a facial and was pleased with the service.

Here is the link to their website: http://www.spa-h.com/

They also have specials from time to time.

I have only had a mini facial there, but Imago Beauty Salon is great. It's on Bergen avenue b/w Duncan and Fairmont I think. They also have a location in Hoboken
