Christie is simply just a waist of space ... politically and physically!

Virtually every Republican voted against it, and one single Democrat in Trenton did the same. All the 'ayes' were Democrats. Prieto could've killed the bill and didn't.

They'll all be dipping their beak in LSP at some point.

I think it is targeted at him because a billboard pinpointing everyone is difficult. I agree it wasn't just him lots of players involved. But he said he would work to revise it and development is a part of his plan for LSP.

Would never give money to Friends of Liberty State Park for its partisan billboard which unfairly places all of the blame on the gov. It appears the organizes of this protest are totally clueless on where they should direct their anger: the legislature.

There are many, many things which can be pinned squarely on the gov but this is not one of them.

Christie's administration pushed this sneaky piece of $hit through at the last second. Then said they would revise it but either way still want to sell out Liberty State Park.

With all due respect, that isn't accurate. Look at who sponsored the bill and added the amendment, which was approved by the full legislature.

Signed the garbage the democratic legislature sent him...

Why isn't the attention on the assembly and senators that introduced and voted for the amendment. To me the lack of attention and full blame on Christie is foolish and misguided.

I don't think he'll ever see it... I remember reading the state police have been flying him everywhere as part of protocol they put in place after Corzine's crash.

There is some wisdom in these posts. Don't be blinded by partisanship.

What a vivid illustration of how so many see politics as a team game and ignore the bad acts of their "team."

This was a bipartisan effort through and through. Sure, blame Christie for signing off, but it's incredibly dishonest to imply this is all his fault. Democrats wanted this as well. I'm sure that sweet developer money will flow to both sides.

Sadly, he didn't veto Prieto's bill. This was a Hudson County, NJ Democrat supported bill both in the Assembly and the Senate. A prototypical NJ political screw job by both parties. All Prieto had to do was walk away from it, and he didn't. Just look at what Joe D did in Essex County to the pristine South Mountain Reservation to see what's in store for LSP.

Ken Thorbourne | The Jersey Journal

Resized Image

The advocacy group fighting to keep commercialization and development at bay at Liberty State Park has taken its message Trenton -- posting a billboard near the Department of Environmental Protection that addresses Gov. Christie directly.

"Gov. Christie, Liberty State Park is NOT FOR SALE," reads the billboard sign posted by Friends of Liberty State at 401 East State Street, about a half mile from the Statehouse.

The "NOT FOR SALE" part is in a word bubble, floating out of the mouth of Lady Liberty herself.
