Re: What’s going there? (Journal Square edition)

Wendy's is coming back to JSQ. Signs went up on the old Chickpea location , right by Santander Bank. KFC needs to come back to the square as well like the old times.

Of the major fast food joints, both KFC and BK are missing in Journal Square.

PSA: Signs went up yesterday on JFK saying the entire BLVD has a 4 hour parking limit from 139 to Secaucus road .. The Zone 16 signs are up on JFK going North , and on JFK coming South from Secaucus road will probably be completed by this evening.

I haven't seen anything saying the BLVD has been zoned.

The side streets around me has seen some enforcement . Maybe once a day someone comes around checking.

I know on JFK, when it snows and the snow piles on, the county plows pushes the snow from in front of the bus stops.

Last Sunday (17th) I took the path to NWK and then NJ Transit to to the Airtrain. Uber pool said its $15 something to the airport.

I went with the trains thinking it will be cheaper. My one way ticket from NWK to the EWR Station was $8.50. I paid $11.25 to take the train, and Path took almost 30 mins to show up on Sunday. I wasn't catching a flight, so the time really isn't an issue. Pay 3 bucks more and you would be at the airport faster.

At 1AM today I dropped the rental I picked up Sunday and took uber pool back. It was $23. Uber routes you to the the Turnpike only to come out on 1/9 Truck. It was a ridiculous waste of time. But I had no other option seeing it was past midnight.

I will make a couple of comments regarding the Sunday Night Pursuit from my pov.

I was right in saying the new police cruisers took part in the pursuit. I did not know there was police chase. Almost every available units responded.

I'm reserving my opinion on how all these cruisers drove to the scene. But I will add the traffic lights on the stretch of Kennedy from 139 to the accident scenes is red light-green light-red light.

{Edit} Hudson County Prosecutors Units are rolling towards the scene. A few reasons as to why they would respond. Maybe there are fatalities. Could be because of the severity of the crime scene. Could also be because there maybe police involved shooting.

{Edit} An Ambulance with 4 police car escort just returned from the scene. OEM Truck responded.

{Edit} Fire radio says 2 cars fully engulfed in flames, also reports of shots fired in that vicinity. Don't know if this connected or a separate incident.

{Edit} From Twitter: @NNJnews: Jersey City, NJ - Tonnelle Ave near North St - Police pursuit resulted in a mva w/ numerous injured including Officers. Highway is closed.

{edit} I'm updating the count as the cars/trucks go by.

{edit} Could be related, but 2 ambulances just went south on Kennedy and I believe a bomb squad esu truck went north towards the scene.

{edit} It's all calm for now. Only saw 2 or three other district units return.

{Edit} This is not normal. 2 NJ Park Police Units (my guess based at Liberty) are rolling down Kennedy.

The Airporter is a good option. I used it to fly out of LGA and back. You can also take the Path to the subway and get off in queens and take an MTA Bus. Since you want to cut down on the transfers, its best to take the Airporter or UBER it.

FYI Leave early, its a mess getting into LGA due to construction

Does zone 2 still remain and is it separate from a new zone, or is the new zone an expanded zone 2?

Was in lower Manhattan yesterday and took the path to WTC and I too was confused how to get to street level. The old layout, was simple and straight forward. It looks like the PA told Westfield to come up with the exit and they decided the easiest way to street level, is to go in front of all their stores.

NYC doesn't need permits, they have strictly regulated parking laws.

NYC doesn't even have parking permits, so your comparison doesn't make much sense.

How can the city be sued when the kid(s) trespassed? The gates were locked and fishing hasn't even began. The pump house was boarded up, *that was the case in August 2015* If anyone is at fault it's the kid.

Do away with bathrooms for both men and women and create one. The lines will be longer, but you're already used to that if you go out to the clubs...

The guy who was arrested, I have never seen before. But his car I have seen around town for past year, if not, a couple of years. Reason I know this is because on the trunk he has a transponder which stands out, and it's something you see on the PAPD cars and other police cars. JCPD doesn't have them, maybe the Sheriff does.
