I have seen a place convert itself to half pizzeria and cafe overnight. I doubt they got the proper permits to do such work ... Doing whatever you want seems to be norm in jersey city..

I've been in the heights since the mid 90's. It's a good area. If you want an easy transport, you'll have to live near Kennedy Blvd since there is a mix of buses and jitney's. However after 12, i don't think there's a whole lot of options off a kennedy. I live before Manhattan ave and my area is ok.. Is it as quite as when i moved in, no, are there some people i find to be seedy, yes.. People do walk on Kennedy (around me) until 12-1 in the morning.. but the foot traffic isn't much after 9-10..

Central ave has stop and shop. Newark ave has Indian groceries and restaurants. Journal Sq has a mix of shops, and the Path is right there.

Huh? Booting and Reserved parking rules are suspended?

While browsing the city website came across this notice saying Quote:
RESERVED PARKING & ALL BOOTING REGULATIONS WILL BE N FULL EFFECT BEGINNING JANUARY 2, 2013
ANYONE WITHOUT THE PROPER PERMIT WILL BE TICKETED AND
BOOTED

Jersey City Parking Authority, 394 Central Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07307
201?653? 6969 ext. 100 http://cityofjerseycity.com/uploadedF ... ng%201-2-13%20Revised.pdf

I like to know when was this suspended or was it half suspended? Does this mean I can park in the reserved spaces without getting ticketed or booted all of next week? Are meter rules suspended as well?

I got a call from USPS saying the Karney hub was under 4 feet of water. And they are routing mail to different centers.

What annoys me, is I had a package pass through on Oct 28 and it i haven't gotten it. Another package passed through there on same day and got delivered Monday. I had a recent package pass through there as well and it came today. However USPS has no update of it ever arriving at the local post office.

Power is still out here in heights... the block over has power and certain parts have power. Areas of central ave have power as well.

Its strange how you can go from pitch dark to light one block over

I wish J City sees no money from F1.. We had the chance to get F1 here and a small majority decided the fate without any real consideration.. J City should stick to its gun and say we don't want your race and money..

I'll be going to the race.

These Camera needs to turned off until every motorist is treated the same.

I have seen cars with SG,MG,CG and PAPD plates run these lights and non of them are responding to sort of emergencies as they have to stop at the next light.

Since they are the government they do not have pay, but everybody else has to..

Bj's at Newport sells alcohol? Which aisle? I never seen it there..

BJ's does sell alcohol, and if you have a membership it's at a damn good discount.

What I don't understand is why BJ's gets to sell alcohol in the main store while Costco has to keep the store separate. I think it's because by law BJ's has to sell alcohol to everybody, even if you don't have a membership, right?

Almost most stores that sell Liquor are convenience stores. Do you want to go the pharmacy and buy alcohol, just go to Manhattan Pharmacy.. There's is always a store selling within 3 blocks of one another.

Plus I would like to see BJ's, Walmart and etc sell alcohol. IF there is more the competition , the better the prices will be.

BTw, I think food basics in North Bergen have pretty good prices..

All you want to do is hope for Green lights that you will be on Grand st without having to stop on Johnston and Pacific..

There really needs to be an alternative to leave LSP without having to touch either of those two streets.

I wouldn't mind a Jersey Ave connection for use at night time only.

As someone who goes to Secacuas every other day, I take JFK and Secaucus RD.

Where in Secaucus are you going? I wouldn't take 1/9 at all due to the traffic by Manhattan ave.

If you are going to mill creek mall.. Get on JFK turn on Secaucus rd and go all the down, right on county road, and right on paterson plank rd and left at the first light take you to mill creek.

Another option go on JFK to Nelson Ave which becomes Paterson Plank

There are security cams in that walkway... Then again there is a police precinct right there, so I guess having a police presence is pointless.

Did you mean to say you called the non 911 number?

To call 911 for a noise complaint is wrong.
