I heard there was some hubbub when the NYC one opened because Chik Fil A requires a valid photo ID for the deal, and many homeless people who waited in line obviously did not have that.

So your plan to give it away to a homeless person wouldn't even work, unfortunately.

I was in Woodbridge today and passed Chick Fil A, there was a line to get in the fast food restaurant. One would think Chick Fil A is giving the food away.

I would do it just to donate the meals to a homeless person even though I dont like the company.

Year's worth of Chick-fil-A for first 100 at grand opening of Newport mall location

By Caitlin Mota | The Jersey Journal
on November 02, 2015 at 2:47 PM

Chick-fil-A is coming to Jersey City and to celebrate, the fast food franchise will be giving out free meals for a year to the first 100 customers.

The new location is set to open at Newport Center Mall on Nov. 11.

Participants can begin lining up at 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 10, on the top level of the parking deck.

The company will provide security, restroom access, games, entertainment and items from the Chick-fil-A menu. Participants must live in eligible zip codes and may only bring a blanket and chair.

The 100 winners will each receive a digital offer card with 52 free meals, which totals more than $32,000 worth of free food.

Conpany officials said the eatery will bring 60 new jobs to Jersey City.

People that live and/or work nearby will use the mall for quick foods.

They aren't. You have McDonald's on Grove. You have Dunkin Donuts next to it. You have Little Sandwich Shop for a quick sandwich. There are pizza places all around. Hollywood Fried Chicken for that... Seems as though the fast food options are aplenty.

so pizza plus four places (one that only serves breakfast, and another with limited hours). that doesn't sound like many options. I welcome the addition of another affordable place, not everyone downtown is rich.

It's no different than, say, if Krispy Kreme were to announce a store in JC. Not something you'd eat every day, but once in a while it hits the spot.

As delicious as Cam Janssen. You twit. Go devils Go lmfao.
You shut your mouth Cam Janssen is a saint!

I'll be glad to have Chik Fil A in the mall, it'll be nice to get a quick sandwich from a fast food place that isn't disgusting.

The mall has a Panera to fill in the "not disgusting" requirement. Chik Fil A is still frozen chicken thrown in a fryer...

I can only assume your little temper tantrum stems from the fact that you don't agree with the founder's views.

I don't either, but the fact is most people rightfully place enormous importance about the quality of food they get from a food place. And Chik Fil A's quality is very high. So many people are excited for their opening. It's just that simple.

What "temper tantrum"? I never told anyone to not eat there. I didn't even say whether or not I would eat there. I didn't use the word boycott anywhere. Seems like you're trying to read more into this than what's there.

A wealthy older white guy is super conservative and a bigot? Geez, you'd have to be born yesterday to be surprised by this.

I just find it hysterical that people clamor for good food and suddenly people are excited about the addition of yet another fried chicken place. Excitement for places like this negates the clamoring for a Whole Foods...

Hopefully they'll serve breakfast. For some reason a lot of the NJ mall Chick-fil-A's I've been to don't. I need my chicken biscuit fix.

Ironically, Colonel Sanders HATED what KFC did to his recipe and called it "the worst fried chicken I've ever seen."

Sure, I am now boycotting KFC, and have been retroactively doing so for the probably decade or more since I've consumed that garbage.

KFC is pretty good as far as fast food goes!

And the Colonel (honorary, btw - Google "Kentucky Colonel") was born in 1890, and managed to have a true by-his-own-bootstraps life without all the retrogressive Republican hyperbole.

You're right, I had a brain fart. Must be the heat.

Secret Chick-fil-A tip that I learned last year at one in Delaware (no thank you to Paramus Park, where I've gone for 20+ years): if you get yourself a kids meal for whatever reason, you can trade in the toy for their soft serve for free. Their soft serve is really good (similar to ice milk?), and their toys are really sucky.

Some people boycott Starbucks because of their stance on gun control, or gay marriage, or the fact that Starbucks operates in the Middle East except for Israel. Starbucks seems to be doing ok, while Chick-fil-A has been having incredible growth and profit results since 2012. Whole Foods also has 'progressive' boycotters for a few reasons.

Hopefully you don't find yourself with a medical emergency and find the only nearby hospital is run by a Catholic Charity, lol.

Hmm. Let's see - is Cam Janssen the CEO of the Devils? Does he use the money that he makes from the Devils to run a foundation that spreads ignorance and funds hate groups?

Oh, so WinShape only gives millions of dollars to one group of bigots now, instead of the many hate groups that they used to fund? Guess everything's okay.
