Rizzo's on Central Ave. in the Heights across from Pershing Field Park. They have hot lunch specials on weekdays you can mix and match for $7 a dish. They also have dinners to stay or go, and wonderful cookies for dessert.

I put in a big "shout out" for Delen?o's restaurant for pizza or Italian entrees. You need to clearly tell them what you want. The food is great quality.

It sure feels like it!

Ever since the demise of UNO, I have not found anything similar to deep dish and have resorted to buying them frozen from Giordano's and Lou Malnati's.

WHAT!! I picked up there on Thursday and there was nothing unusual going on. Yuly's on Coles btwn 2nd & 3rd, right?

There's other rice & beans joints around but I'm creature of habit, at least as far as lunch goes. I still mourn Lucy's, my previous fave.

They have reopened.

I'll put a vote in for Golden Grille... their combo tray, which comes with 1/2 rack of ribs, 1/2 chicken, and 2 sides for $15 is a bargain and enough food for 3-4 people. And pretty good!

Glad to see another fan of their mexi. Fast, cheap and not too bad. I like the grilled chicken Burrito-hold the cheese & sour cream, as a nod to healthy.

add to the list:
Smoked BBQ & kebabs from Legal Beans
Rotisserie chicken from Goody's (Newark & Coles)
Nicole's (partial to the Jerk Chicken with coconut rice)
Yuly's bacala (salt cod) stew. I think it's only Wed, but the roast pork is good all week!

Forgot...about two weeks back, took a margh pizza to go with hot peppers from Carmine's Pizza Factory. For JC, was pleasantly surprised, especially because the crust was thin and didn't fold over and sag. The sauce and cheese are average but didn't ruin it.

Hit Goody's last night, picked up whole chicken, sweet bananas/salad for 12 dollars on the dot.

Liked it. Plenty of chicken and a lot of bananas. Accompanied by some type of garlic sauce. Good for dipping the chicken and bananas in.

Goody's chicken plus a side of steamed brocolli or in garlic sauce. Dinner is DONE

The fish or nopal tacos, chicken mole from T Viva Mexicano are great .

+1 for Honshu and Taqueria Viva Mexico Kitchen Cafe (their everything chorizo burrito is phenomenal).

Also +1 to La Rustique for pizza.

Goody's and Hollywood Chicken - still on my list to try, thanks for tip.
With any rotisserie chicken, after I'm done with the chicken, I chop up the carcass, add water and make chicken stock - it's delicious. One chicken makes about 3-4 cups. The fat that congeals is tasty for cooking.

One of the thing's I like about Goody's chicken is the fat is almost completely cooked out! The skin is paper thin and delicious.

My wife does what you say with our own roast chicken carcasses however, saved up 3 or 4 in the freezer to make matzo ball soup.

Pollo a la Brasa... Best Chinese Food in Town!

Their rotisserie chicken is one of downtown JC?s finer secrets, IMO.

Per a Harsimus Cove related post on Facebook, Buon Appetito has reopened in the Pizzeria that was on the corner of Jersey and Columbus.

You mean the Grande Pizza/Wings place is now Buon Appetito? How the heck did that happen so fast?!

Tommy - the Pastafarian Community has been holding prayer meetings since the fire, beseeching the FSM on behalf of BA. These vigals, called Linguinas, seem to have worked.

Wow, have JC standards sunk so low that 40 minutes is considered fast? Actually, that's why I don't order from many places. It seems an hour or more is not unusual, particularly in little India. 30 minutes is standard in manhattan.

There are many comments in social media about delivery times from Grand Sichuan being awful, it's not a comment on delivery times in general. I don't order delivery very often so I'm not an expert in JC.

Grand Sichuan's mapo tofu is absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. The pork soup dumplings, as previously mentioned, are fantastic but rarely survive the delivery.

Midtown Philly Steaks will deliver to DTJC, and makes a pretty decent cheesesteak, especially for delivery.

Raffaellos (former Chillout Pizza Lounge) has good wings / calzones, but has an aggressive $3 delivery charge.
