JC Fish Stand on Jersey Ave has EXCELLENT fish. Maloneys is great for meat, but
there aren't many great places for meat in downtown. Whole Foods Newark has
good meats and organic chicken, often on sale. Also Shoprite in Hoboken has decent
meats at very good prices.

Who misses Lisa, the waitress at the original Hard Grove? She's probably rolling her eyes from up above at this.

I know there was a construction issue with the spot on Newark Ave. Is this new Montgomery location supposed to be the final location or temporary until the issue on Newark Ave gets worked out?

LOL I had to look up NIMBY. Seems so true. I hardly think the NIMBYs are complaining about how their property values have risen because of the new restaurants and energy in DTJC.

I am recycling the paper and pull off the plastic and put it outside for people to use for dog bags, but it's a pain in the you know what.

Weekly flyers delivered to doorstep

Does anyone know how I can request that I get only 2 of these weekly fliers (in plastic, w/ Lowes add on plastic and paper fliers inside)
instead of a ton. I am responsible for keeping my building clean, and these are such a nuisance. There's so much to recycle.

Let me know what I can do to request either NONE or only 2!!!

Just when I think I should see what's happening on JC List,
I see a thread like this that reminds me of why I stay away
from JC List for long periods at a time.

Agreed, P&K owners are much nicer, store is cleaner, less outdated sell by dates, and they have
put a lot of effort in to making it a better store. Their sons are super nice guys.

I saw someone walk right into the middle of 1st Street with a car coming down the block while he had the phone in his hand, and he didn't even notice.
I was like - dude - watch where you are walking.

Nothin for nothing, I have boycotted Tender Shoot for like 7 years now.

The woman owner was so incredibly nasty to me, unnecessarily, and their produce is beyond reasonable expiration.

I won't be missing them. Just my experience.

MMMM I love Choc o Pain. I can't get to Paris anytime soon, it's so nice to have this proximity in JC.

Smells like buttery deliciousness every time you walk in.

Hopefully they will fix the 3 major metal plates on the road that are still a lot of wear and tear on the car.

Since there's only 3 now, other drivers either knowingly or unknowingly want to drive over them at ridiculous speeds.

Nothin for nothing, I have been driving the Pulaski from JC to Newark for many a day for the past 3 years.
I have to say the workers are consistently out there, good weather or not. The covered roadway has made a lot
of progress. I hope they are addressing the structural issues of the bridge. I cannot say as I do not know
for sure, but the workers have been out there.

And FYI, in my 10 years downtown and 20 years with friends in other districts,
they always enforce permits - if you don't have one, you will be ticketed and
sometimes even booted. Not worth the chance - too expensive.

And $5 per day for visitor passes during week days - you can buy up to 10 visitor passes at a time.

It's $300 for non-residents per year and $15 for residents. It's been like that for a long time.

Agreed, it made no sense. Went in there once and bought super expensive dessert.

Wasn't impressed and wondered how they could make a large space like that profitable.

Still would like to try restaurant in back, heard good things about it.

Any suggestions for a good dog groomer in DTJC where I can get my dog's nails cut?

I used to bring him to Groomingdales, which wasn't super clean, but they always took him and it wasn't super expensive.

Thanks.

Been to Edwards, Union Republic, and many other restaurants in Jersey City. My fave is the NY Strip at Skinner's Loft. Consistently fantastic.
