It is 9 dollars at Cafe Saigon ("CS"). The Banh Mi comes with a salad. I suggest CS offer a single sandwich (minus salad) at 7 dollars minimum. If you can get one in the 6 to 8 dollar range in FiDi Manhattan, it should not be expensive in JC!

I choose A&L. I went to Ziggy's too and their estimate was close to A&L. I met Luciano and Antonio on Saturday, they looked at the scratches, gave me the estimate and said they could do it in 1 day. They scheduled me for Monday and put the estimate on their business card. I dropped it off at 8 AM, picked it up at 5 PM and the job was done. I would say on a scale of 10 being the best, I would give the job a 9. Satisfied. They did not increase the estimate (which was a fair price) when it came time to pay and they did the job in 1 day.

It is mostly fish with carib flavor, so it is not one or the other, however, the fries are just average fries, nothing to write home about, but the cole slaw was definitely good and I rarely eat cole slaw bc I don't usually like it. No doubles, but that would be good. I like the doubles I get on 43 and 6 Ave at the Trini-Paki Boys cart..for 1 dollar, their doubles rock.

Been open for about 3 weeks. They have interesting carib specials every day, except Monday (closed). Very small place with maybe seating for 6. Super friendly. Provided free corn on the cob. They have that nice spicy carib sauce. Specialize in fish, tilapia, shrimp, catfish, whiting, etc. Started with a beef pattie. It was really good. Not made there, she gets them from a bakery. But everything else is made there. Had the spicy red snaper (whole fish, bones, head, etc..) with fries and cole slaw. It was good stuff. 308 Pacific Avenue 07304. Found it by just exploring the area near the Provident Bank, Lafayette Park, etc.. ..they need a FB or basic web page though.

Went Tuesday night. The food was very good and the crowd had a good vibe. Had an Oskar Blue Pale Ale on draft for 5 bucks. 1) Improve ventilation from kitchen, place had cooking odor 2) Main dishes took way too long to arrive (pork stew and cod special). 3) put a chalkboard sign outside indicating entrance is on the side of the street (Whiton), not on Communipaw.
Otherwise, the place has great potential and much needed in an up and coming part of JC.

Went today. It was underwhelming...the toaster blackened my bagel. So they re-did it and said that going through the toaster twice makes the bagel black. They threw a new one in and it was barely toasted. I don't get it. The service was a bit off their game. Long story, don't want to bore with the details. Maybe the bagel I get in NYC nice and toasted to perfection has spoiled me. I have to give the nod to Wonder Bagels.

To Kiro: There are fields that the kids and adults play, Lincoln Park, Caven Point, Grand Street and indoor at TSLC on 9th Street. Hoboken and Weehawken too!! However, it is not enough because there is such a demand for use of these fields. You are at the mercy of the softball/baseball leagues at Lincoln Park.
To 1stSTguy: You have no clue what you are writing about, the interest of soccer in Hudson County is huge, go to Weehawken any weekend, go to Grand Street on Saturdays and Sundays and you will see leagues and pickup games with all type of teams ranging from eastern euro to central and south american and americans who grew up playing soccer, stopped, and then regained their love for the sport. I can't blame you for assuming soccers unpopularity, but the need for more fields (on the west side near the Pulaski Skyway) is in extreme demand.

I am a dog lover, own 1 dog, he's 14. With that said, do you know Gary. I have met him before. Have you seen his dogs. I have. Are they dangerous, damn right. These dogs are just in the wrong hands. When there are pit bulls, unchained, on the loose and in a residential area, cops are trained to shoot first, ask questions later. Because if the owner is not cooperating and a human is bit or worst, it would be the cops who did not protect the human from an animal. It is an animal. Are there bad cops, yes. But with firsthand knowledge, I trust it was not the cops fault in this case. Those dogs are trained to be aggressive. Are all pitbulls TRAINED to be aggressive, no, is Gary's, YES. Anyway, who owns 6 pitbulls??? Take a guess Mathias!

This summer, I got my dog his shots on MLK for free. It is something they do annually i guess. Well, when I read this article and saw Gary's photos, I sure did remember him and his dogs. I have photos of him where he had to isolate his 2 dogs because they were..well, lets put it this way, they were intimidating and they went wild when another dog got within short distance. And has any1 ever seen a pitbull on the loose. I have. Those suckers have super freakish speed and can jump like spiderman. It only takes a split second b4 they are on top of you.

Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy says he believes the show is an opportunity to promote the city.
Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national ... 1zltQ3c0ArN#ixzz1lteMwefV More evidence (as if there has not been enough already) that Mr. Healy is clueless, idealess, and has no inkling of what he is doing as mayor. I am certain he has not even watched more than 3 minutes of 'Jersey Shore'. If he did, he would not believe a sorry ass show like this would be an opportunity to promote Jersey City, except in a negative light. Good on Ya Healy.

Do you have to clean the bumper bully ('bb') often, if yes, how often? Does the bb itself cause any scratches or abrasions to the bumper (by rubbing etc) just by being attached? Thanks for your help.

Well, to my surprise, I have learned several things by posting a simple question to the people of Jersey City who own bumper bullies and badgers and the sort.
1. People like catdog (nice name) and ianmac and brewster HATE these products. 2. People like catdog (nice name) and ianmac and brewster HATE/DESPISE the people who own these products. Please explain why you replied to the post if you do not own a bumper bully or badger. I know, first amendment. And I know, you THINK AND BELIEVE people out there in cyberspace REALLY CARE about your opinions about the product and the people who own the product, even though you don't own one, but felt so compelled to reply for the good of the community. Outstanding work. I applaud your good service to the people of this fine city.

And I guess the comment on white shoes is from...someone who has white shoes, why else would you comment on something you do not have any experience with, so you must have white shoes and they must have been dirtied up.

brewster and ianmac, my post was for people who actually own these bumper bully or badger things, not for social commentary if I am from some place here or someplace there or if a hypothetical about if one car has one and the other does not, guess who will get hit, this is why this jclist can be a drag, because of people like you who feel better about themselves putting down the poster. Now, please post about the subject would be the polite and proper thing to do on a forum. It would be appreciated if the moderator would moderate too, because I do not see where these two replies were constructive to the content of the post.
I thank the other posters/replies and further constructive input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hate this towing company. Know someone (women) who was there just as they were about to lift, and they said, too late and wouldn't even clarify how to pay right there at a discount, instead was rude and kept lifting. Took advantage of the person. And based on this article, what goes around comes around, pay up!

There was never any noise until 3 months or so ago, maybe a bit longer. As soon as those trucks came around, the noise started. It is not always on, but when it is, sounds like a spaceship has landed, that HUMMING. I would say it is on at least 16 of the 24 hours in a day! And yes, it is located on the 8th Street side facing St. Anthony HS.
Someone, is there some NUISANCE law here.

When walking by the tall convalescent center on Manila between Pavonia and 8th Street (across from the Hudson Savings Bank), there is an annoying HUMMING noise. I see an air condition repair truck there sometimes, but his HUMMING noise continues, so annoying.
Who can this be reported to as a nuisance????
