Bought 3 tickets, won $2.
NJ lotto: +1 Me: -1 I would have bought a cool house (main and vacation), cool cars, set up my family (parents, siblings, in laws, etc) for life, have a lawyer on permanent retainer. Honestly, the first $10 million would easily take care of all of that. What to do with the remaining hundred of millions?? There is always more stuff to buy, (private jet, whatever) but I think it would be hard to spend that kind of cash and still feel good about myself. I don't know...I guess I would start a foundation or donate to a borderless, non-political charity (e.g., doctors w/o borders, UNICEF, etc) that does the most good for the neediest people. This, of course is a matter of personal opinion. Glad to see so many people want to do so much good.

for myself i would buy a 3-4 floor brownstone with a garage behind it (one of those alleyways is fine on 4th or 5th) near hamilton park/harsimus cove and have it gutted and the patio yard area landscaped simply with a hammock and a trampoline while keeping some old world charm inside the house (though there would definitely be a ball room for people to jump in!), have my car fixed or upgrade a year or two (no bmw's or any of that bs for me.) and buy a 3-4 bedroom vacation house in a community that mows the lawn and maintains the neighborhood when nobody is home, and has a community pool and bbq area outside of tampa so that friends/family could visit and have a place to stay when they want to drive over to disney or check out the west coast beaches. maybe i'd give some relatives/friends a helping hand, of course after having a lawyer and financial professionals help me manage the money and keep myself protected from theft and scams.
to give back to others i would open some more cancer treatment centers, specifically for cancers in reproductive organs, and open up an audiology specific hospital that provides charity care for cochlear implants and hearing aids to those less fortunate. i'd also build jersey city a new animal shelter that could support the needs of our city, such as indoor/outdoor runs for dogs and an actual adoption center with cozy areas for people to meet potential pets in the winter months and large runs and a low stress sanctuary facility within the grounds for older surrenders and unsocialized animalswho aren't easily placed. someday! maybe during one of the future mega millions. one can only dream.

Crap, just read up on that! Some states do not require the press conference I guess NJ does. My kids are still too young to know about press conferences, etc. so at least they would be clueless until they figured out how to google their parents' names then :)

Annuities for what's left of my family so they could live comfortably for life. Ditto the friends who have been friends through it all. I would buy myself the house of my dreams - one in JC, New Mexico, Newfoundland. I would travel, I would donate to charity & volunteer more to help those who don't have a voice.

I would tell nobody. We'd invest wisely, let the kids grow up normally, take nice vacations, buy a home, etc. and then enjoy all of the wealth once they have moved out (sharing it of course, but not letting it ruin their childhoods!)

How many of your will share the money with most of your relatives and friends so everyone you know become millionaire?
If you do, will you feel unfair to yourself of giving out money to these people for no reason? If you don't, will those people feel bad towards you for not sharing?

I would want to move out of JC but stay in Jersey but I'm sure my husband would want to leave the NY Metro area.
I'd set my 92 yo grandmother up with the best care possible, pay off my parent's and IL's mortgage, set up college funds for all of my nieces and nephews and help my sister with a new house. I'd also set up both sets of parents with long term care when they get older. I'd buy a house in NJ somewhere, not sure if we'd move to the shore, maybe buy or rent a small 2 bedroom in the city so we can go there when we want to. My husband would want a boat, and probably a ski house too and invite our friends over for free vacations in the winter and summer.

I'd tear down the abandoned repair shop on my block and build a movie theater. I'd buy the embankment and turn it into a nature preserve. I'd eat steak frites from Madame Claude every day. I'd get Melvin an apartment. I'd take over the city and run it as a dictator.

I can't believe it, but I actually bought tickets for 5 bucks.
I figured the hoopla and this thread alone is worth five bucks. I'd buy a bitchin house on the ocean in Laguna Beach, a 50-ft fishing boat, and plan to donate the rest to charity.

I would for sure buy out Delenios so they stop serving terrible pizza and replace it with another Carmines.
Additionally, I would pay the people in Hamilton Park to wear a collar and leash for a day so their dogs can walk them in the area that says "no dogs allowed". There is a double benefit here...It would serve as a day of humor as well as a learning lesson for the owners. When they get back home and have dog crap all over they will have consideration for others.

Pay for the installation of stop signs in jersey city that would automatically ticket drivers for running them (including not stopping at the white line). Would change the culture FAST.

After taxes the lump sum would be $296,604,000 if you take 26 yearly payments it is $15,803,077, in total it comes out to $410,880,002 after taxes.
