the best way to get rid of the drugs on wayne street is for the city to auction off that shitty park to the highest bidder. and then allow the winner to build on the space tax free. it might not bring additional taxes into the city but it wil close off that shithole of a park for good and restore a lione of row houses.

From what I hear in the streets the "victim" is not as inocent as he tries to sound. This apparantly started with a group of bloods from Montgomery coming over to Wayne st stating that no one else was aloud to sell drugs there anymore. Thats when guys from Columbus attacked them.

Seriously, WTF. That is absolutely crazy.
My hunch is somehow the people involved know each other but it's still pretty crazy. After I thought about it, though, it's not the first machete attack I have heard of. When I lived in DC a few years ago, these were happening every once in a while. There, they were committed primarily by groups of Latino gang members and were usually attacks on rival gangs or people they had some specific beef with. And interestingly enough they were never in the inner-city places you would associate with gang violence but scattered across the suburbs. Machetes are effing scary. One time I was on a beach in the Dominican Republic and saw a guy walking with a huge machete. Just seeing it was unsettling.

When do we as a society start to really hold the parents accountable for these kids? That said, do they even have control? I assume many of the kids 14-17 actually run the house and do what they please. If the parents can't tell them what to do then who will? These kids who are caught need to do mandatory community service with councilors that can put something positive into their minds. It's seems that could be a whole new job title and one that could actually bring about some change.
