Ahh Hell. I got the white flight memo last fall and got the hell out of JC. Now they're saying to come back?

So did the cops show up or not? If they did show up why would the victim have to file a police report in order for the police department to acknowledge the event?

Sadly naive. This stuff doesn't appear from nowhere. Besides the baggy falling down prison garb, the Northface down jackets and Timberland boots stem from dealers trying to keep warm standing all night long on their corners.

I do love the idea of prisoners being issued topsiders, khakis and a nice polo shirt as a program for social change. Dress for success: fake it till you make it!

I think it's naive to think that every hip-hop fashion trend is based on crime.

Do you even believe you own bullsh!t? It's almost like a game, let's take a fashion trend and link it to a criminal act! Sounds like fun!

Can you explain the carhardt/dickies phase of the early-mid nineties? Can you explain how the hightop fade is coming back into style? Can you explain why people were wearing enormous baseball hats with the flat brims and the new era sticker still on it? Or the throwback jersey phase of the late 90's? Or the whole pajama pant fiasco of last year? Please tell me, you obviously have your finger on the pulse of hip-hop culture, and know more about this than I. Please enlighten me with more wisdom.

Curious to see how this plays out.

I think the tables will turn if and when gas prices get higher. Then, a lot of the "edge suburbs" will become ghost towns and eventually get turned into low-income housing by default. People with decent incomes will be paying money under the table to live in housing projects with good access to public transportation.

Huh? How expensive do you think gas would have to be to make people with decent incomes to move to the projects?

High gas prices suck, but people aren't going to take drastic life changing measures to save money. They might buy a fuel efficient car, drive less. or carpool, but they aren't going to pack up the kids and move to jersey city to save 200 bucks a month.

I used to love Taqueria, it was one of my favorite eating spots in jersey city. The first time my wife and i brought in our 5 month old sleeping baby, they treated us like crap. I will never step foot in that place again.

A 3 murder difference from 2006 to 2007 is nothing to cheer about. And 2005 was a fluke, we knew it then, and i would expect people would know it now.

This happened to me 2 years ago and the best advice i can give you is to call a few lawyers to see if they will take your case. A lawyer will not take your case if they feel that you cannot win.

My wife and i got married at the Hyatt last year and one of the things we had to accept was that we were on a public pier. So during our vows you could see a jogger running by or some people watching from the distance. The Hyatt does have their own area of the pier that is not public which is raised and walled off (with a 4 foot wall). So if people were sitting all they could see was us and the view.

Rocket launcher found in Jersey City called training device

A rocket launcher found in a Jersey City Heights yard this morning ?is no longer operable and not considered to a hazard to public safety,? police said this afternoon.

Police described it as a ?training device? and would not say if the 20-year-old military ordinance could have fired projectiles at one time and, if so, if it could be re-armed.

Police would also not say if it is legal to own the device.

?You don?t have to be a soldier to recognize what that thing was,? said Joe Quinn, who lives next door to where the device was found, on Nelson Avenue. ?I went over and looked and I thought ?Oh my God.? It thought it was a bazooka.?

Quinn said it had what looked like a shoulder strap and an image of a man on one knee with the weapon on his shoulder.

Niranjana Desai said she walked out of her home, near Irving Street, at 8:20 a.m. and saw the device in her small front yard.

?I was walking out and I saw it and there was a man nearby and I asked him ?Is that yours,? and he said ?No,?" said Desai who has lived there for seven years. ?I was afraid, I thought, ?What is that?

According to one press report, the incident is now being investigated by the Joint Terrorism Task Force and The Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The device has been forwarded to Army officials at Ft. Monmouth in Eatontown.

?Police are working in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies and Army official to track the training device in an effort to determine how it came to be at the location,? according to a press release from the police department.

The FBI did not immediately reply to an email and a phone call seeking coment and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives did not respond to a phone call.

I ordered delivery from Sawadee on Friday night which was apparently their first night delivering. I must say that i was shocked when my order arrived no later than 15 minutes after i placed my order. As a bonus, the delivery guy was very extremely nice (almost too nice).

The food was good, the portions were large, and the prices weren't high. I will definitely order from them again soon.

Those ads have been around since 2002/2003. The first and second ads a were for Target (the second one was a holiday themed advertisement and to this day there has not been a better one). Since they have been around for a few years now, nobody gets overly excited about them anymore.

I live on third street in Jersey City and i work on 34th Street and 10th Avenue in NYC. Door to Door takes me about 45 minutes. I take the path to 33rd street and i walk to my office. I guess i could shave some time off my commute if i took the bus from 6th avenue.

First of all i consider Non a good person and friend and i wish his new site well.

I am glad that the webmaster has addressed this issue, it has been the 800 pound gorilla in the room lately.

I wrote on his site that i will post to both jclist and wiredjc but i would hope that the new site would not be a "look at what they are saying on jclist" bitchathon. So far it has not been and everyone there was in agreement (prior to my post actually).

With that said, i hope that the people on this site will not use jclist as a bash non and friends site either. I have friends at both sites and i take it personally when they are attacked. A little ribbing is ok, and a jab here and there is fine, but i think it is a disservice to jclist to assume that everyone here hates non (it is simply not the case), it makes this site look bad and in the long run it could cost jclist members.

Everyone needs to take the high road, shake hands like civil human beings, and be on their merry way (that's a nice string of cliches isn't it?).
