Just be careful. This group is a cult. There are tens of thousands of ex-members who can testify to this. A simple google search is all that's needed.

Honestly, when they knock on my door on the weekends or approach me as I'm slogging home from the office and ready to plop onto the PATH escalator , I just kinda scratch my head and wonder how many folks respond to them positively with a " hey, I was just looking for a new religion...please tell me more."
You've gotta give them credit ~ I mean, what must their conversion rates be like?

this. i've told them in no uncertain terms to f*&k off, as i have no desire to walk down and up 4 flights of stairs so some moron can preach their fairy tale at me. They seem to have stopped, but I'm sure that eventually some new recruit will not get the memo and I'll tell him/her to f(^% off as well. The right to free speech does not give you the right to speak anywhere at any time. Most towns have laws against solicitation in confined public spaces where there is a captive audience. Subway stations and trains are a prime example.

Well, personally, I am offended by the JW people facing me down every day in an environment that I believe should be free from religion. The separation of Church and State matters a lot to me.
I realize they must have a permit, but does anyone know about PATH's policy on religious organizations? I feel that they should take their anti-gay apocalyptic message elsewhere.

Religion does not get an exception, you need a permit to set up shop on PATH property. The PA cops chase others off when they find them.
If anybody should know the law on soliciting, it should be JW's.

Imagine the horror and complaints if it was a Muslin group recruiting - The general community and the Jewish community would demand a stop to it on the same day and have those recruiting, run out of town. It would even make the news.

I know for a fact, you need a PERMIT to do anything at the Path Station.
I talked to PAPD, reached out and actually got a permit to get people to sign my petitions in my run for Councilman for Ward E. Not sure if religion gets an exception. Fletch

They have been recruiting in the area for years. Every one I have encountered has been incredibly nice and non pushy. If you say you are not interested, they give you a smile and leave you alone. It has never bothered me. Wish we had more neighbors like them!

never even thought about it. They do it in NYC MTA too. Seems pretty harmless to me (they seem so put together), at least they don't shout the bible out loud the whole time. I don't find them that pushy at all. More power to them!

Does anybody else find it odd that PATH allows Jehovah's Witness people to recruit inside the station?
