Around 5 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

i have heard of google.but have you ever heard of MARKETING 101.

my point was why advertise a charitable event and not tell the buyer/donor what the event is all about?

FYI It was written as "Cherry Picked" by the store itself then I guess they realized they should lose the past tense and make it Pick.

That's why folks - myself included - was referring to them as Picked.

FYI :the name of the place is 'cherry-pick", not '-picked'. To cherry-pick is to pick the most desirable item.

Agreed! It's not overpriced (and I had ice cream for dinner last night tee hee).

Only thing I would like to see changed is have to pay for a regular sugar cone. Most establishments include it in their pricing so I think to be competitive it may be a better idea to include it.

Delicious ice cream! I do love Torrico's which I still visit as often. I kind of split my calories between the two.

I had my doubts but the ice cream is actually very good...they're not bsing with the super premium pitch. 3.50 for a small is not cheap but it was very rich and satisfying. Quality over quantity.

I thought I would feel bad for going somewhere other than Torico's for ice cream, but had Cherry Picked's flavor with chocolate pretzels in it. Can't remember the name, but it was delicious!

Quickly overcame any guilt and will be back to try other flavors too...

Underwhelmed. I'd rather go to torico's to be frank.

I thoroughly enjoyed my ice cream from Cherry Picked. I went three times last week b/c I really really liked it.

Had the Butter Brickle all three times :)

On their chalkboard wall, they explained why it's "premium" --- which I think means it has a higher fat content and I think, means super creamy! I definitely noticed a difference between the creaminess of their ice cream compared to say Torico's.

They don't have as many flavors as Torico's which may or may not be a bad thing.

Oh yeah, went to this place last weekend. Really quite tasty. Didn't notice that the size was smaller, but I might have just gotten really excited by that... chai flavor, I believe?

Just went and ordered two flavors on a regular cake cone (not a waffle cone). The scoops were tiny (much smaller than Torico's) and the price was $4.25. The guy explained that if you order it in a cup instead of a cone you get significantly more ice cream, that they price it differently. The ice cream was tasty but the skewed pricing system is off putting.

Dear Neighbor,

Thanks so much for visiting our store. We're glad you enjoyed our ice cream! As for the quantity, please come by, speak to the manager, and we will be happy to make it right!

We hope to see you soon!

I took the kids on Saturday evening. 2 small cones = $8.50. There was, at most, a 1/4 cup of ice cream per cone, maybe. They looked like samples.

More expensive than Grom gelato? I was stunned when they rung me up.

Kids thought the ice cream was fine but they'd walk the few extra blocks for Torrico's.

Running a business is hard...

Dear Neighbor,

Thanks so much for visiting us! We hope you will come by the store again with your kids. Please ask for the manager, and we will be happy to make it right!

There is a reason by every Cookies n Cream variation at good ice cream shops never puts in real stuffed Oreos, but instead buys the cookie pieces.

Thank you very much for visiting our shop!

I like Gia for their spin on the flavors. My GF loves their red wine and peppercorn flavor. But Tommy's is old school Gelato that scratches a slightly different itch.

Besides, both are hardcore boosters of the town and downtown as well, and I like that. Gia has a new cart that they send to farmer's markets and street events, and you can't walk into either Tommy's or Brightside without Tommy himself coming buy to greet you if he ever met you before.

It's like pizza. I like both Razza and Larry 'n Joes.

Just curious, but what's their selling point? organic? i wonder if they are the proprietors of the last place that was there and they just decided to give this a shot. maybe they still had the lease or they own the building.

I tried the new shop, and was pretty disappointed. I don't know if they make it themselves, but it is pretty disappointing in taste, and the portion is half the sizeof Torico, at the same price or more. If I was in that area, I would go to Tommy Two Scoops, or just walk to Torico.

As for the yogurt place.. blecch. Overly sweetened, tasteless and needing a ton of toppings to make it palatable.

That said when Downtown Yogurt opened I thought maybe I could get icy treats a bit more often since it's not the calorie hit of ice cream. But they are actually very expensive because the only cup sizes are basically large and x-large, and the toppings add weight which drives up the price. A full cup of their smaller size will run you at least $7. To keep the price more in the $2-3 range I fill up maybe 1/4 of the smaller container. I wish they had a smaller size option.

I think all the yogurt chains are expensive like you describe. I don't think Downtown Yogurt is any more expensive than, say, a Red Mango. But the quality and flavor range in Downtown Yogurt is superior to the chains, IMO, so I keep going back.
