A Hoboken girl in JC on a Friday night and pisses off "30" chicks. I don't believe it was 30, it's pretty dark at 10pm you can really count heads that well.

She probably came to JC for a house party, the beef started in there, spilled outside into the park. Happens alot. Especially if there is a boy involved (who probably has the whole thing on mobile video).

Not to be tendentious, and yea not everything in the story adds up, but this sort of thing is far from unhead of. I am by the court house a lot and there have been some nasty cat fights among the Dickensen kids as they dismiss or lunch. Perhaps this List was too hard on departing Board of Ed Superintent Epps who said something to the effect that young girls today are the worst. I do think the culture presents young girls with all the wrong role models and signals- not to sound like my grandmother or anythingn.

Perhaps the Rosina can use this in their marketing pitch to family buyers...

I do find it weird the way the mom knew who had the phone and got it back so easy. This leads me to believe she got it from a friend of her daughter and it was never stolen. So this was either a fight this girl got into that she received the worst of and had her friend hold the phone or the friend picked it up off the floor during the fight so it wouldn\'t be stolen. The other possibility is she was initiated into a gang and was \"jumped in\" and had her friend hold her phone before it began. The month of October is known as a big Bloods gang initiation month. The gang initiates more members around this time of year through \"jump in\'s\" and acts of violence. Hoboken projects is full of Bloods members so it\'s possible but the information is limited so many scenarios are possible also.

This is kind of odd. I was in front of that park at about 9:50 and didn't see a thing.

View Larger Map This happened at 10 pm - is there a curfew? Maybe Epps was onto something about some of our young ladies? My question is how does one "walk through" that park? Isn't it closed on three sides -- and the really odd part is does this mother know some of these girls - or is she just SuperMom: "The girl?s mother, who was called to the scene, told police that just as she was arriving, she came across the group, asked for the phone back and one of the girls returned it to her, reports said."

30 girls assault another girl in Jersey City park

A 15-year-old Hoboken girl was assaulted in a Downtown Jersey City park Friday night by a group of roughly 30 girls who stole her cellphone, police reports said.

Police were called to the park on Wayne Street between Barrow Street and Jersey Avenue at 9:57 p.m. on the report of a large, disorderly group and after dispersing the group of up to 30 people, police noticed the 15-year-old girl standing at the corner of the park with a bloody nose, swollen lip and bloody ear, reports said.
