wow she is damn fine. Odd how there are so many stories like this in the news now. Never happened when I was in high school.

These types of prosecutions always struck me as about the most idiotic out there. How sad.

If i was the father i'd fight to have the charges dropped against her.

Not for nothing, she really is very attractive. Imagine being a 17 year old high school senior and having a sexual relationship with her? I understand the law, but the use of the word "victim" regarding the male, in those articles, is a little funny.

NEW BRUNSWICK - A former Jersey City and Weehawken teacher has been sentenced to five years probation after pleading guilty to having sex with a male student.

Prosecutors had requested a jail term of up to 364 days for 35-year-old Lisa Glide of Howell. But at yesterday's sentencing hearing Superior Court Judge Frederick DeVesa said jail time would not serve any useful purpose.

DeVesa noted testimony that Glide was suffering from cancer and depression when the affair with the 17-year-old Old Bridge High School student took place. She was arrested in December 2008.

Glide pleaded guilty in June to endangering the welfare of a child. She is barred from teaching again in New Jersey.

Glide taught as a substitute in Weehawken in 1999 and 2000 and as a teacher in Jersey City in 2000 and 2001. She began teaching drama at Old Bridge High School in 2004.

I didn't major in this in school or anything, but it's a theory.

I have also often wondered why these teachers tend to be attractive. Obviously deeply disturbed or maybe just a midlife crisis. My 33 years old friend loves dating 20 year olds and that is pushing it in my opinion.

Anyhow, I thought New Jersey sexual consent laws state age 16 as the cutoff...

Regardless of gender, the occurence of teacher-student sexual relationships is regular enough, but I really have to get my head around why when the teacher is female, they're usually are pretty damn hot. Remember that blonde in Florida a few years back? And there was another more recently outside of Philly who was model-attractive.

Clearly they're disturbed, and on some level it's a power thing, but the young male students are victims? I have another term for it --- lucky bastards.

OLD BRIDGE -- A drama teacher at Old Bridge High School pleaded guilty today to having a four-month sexual relationship with one of her students last year.

Lisa Glide, 35, of Howell Township, tearfully admitted to Superior Court Judge Frederick De Vesa in New Brunswick that she had sexual relations with one of her male students twice. But under questioning by her attorney, Michael Nolan, she said neither time was on high school property.

Glide pleaded guilty to fourth degree endangering the welfare of a child and faces up to 364 days in the Middlesex County jail when she is sentenced in August. She also agreed to give up her teaching certificate and not reapply for a teaching certificate in any public school New Jersey.

The agreement with the state also calls for Glide to be placed on up to five years of probation and receive mental health counseling as required by her probation officer. During her probation, she can have only supervised contact with males under the age of 18.

In return for the guilty plea, the state agreed to drop a second-degree sexual assault charge and reduce the degree of the endangering charge from third to fourth.

Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Christie Bevacqua said the state agreed to the reduced charges because "the victim wanted to be spared having to testify."

Bevacqua said the victim, who was 17 at the time and graduated from the high school last June, "was fine with this plea agreement."

Glide, who organized the high school's plays, was arrested in December. She began teaching at the high school in September 2004 and was suspended after her arrest. The relationship with the student took place between February and May of last year.

Before working for Old Bridge, Glide was employed with the Marlboro Township schools from 2001 to 2004, and worked for Jersey City schools from 2000 to 2001, authorities said. She began her teaching career as a substitute in Weehawken in 1999 and 2000.

She was earning $50,943 annually as a teacher in Old Bridge. She majored in theater at Montclair State University and studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute.

In a December 2005 article in The Suburban, a weekly newspaper in Old Bridge, Glide said she appeared on the soap operas "One Life to Live" and "All My Children," and was on an episode of the television drama, "Dawson's Creek." She gave the interview after directing the high school's production of Neil Simon's "Plaza Suite."

OLD BRIDGE ?A drama teacher at Old Bridge High School has been arrested on charges that she had a sexual relationship with a male student beginning in February.

Lisa Glide, 35, of Howell, was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison on just one of the charges.

Gilde was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Old Bridge Police Headquarters and is being held at Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick. Bail has yet to be set.

Christie Bevacqua, assistant Middlesex County prosecutor, said investigators learned of the relationship Nov. 25. She declined to say how they learned about the relationship or how long it lasted.

The boy was between 16 and 18 years old and a student of Glide's, she said.

Glide started with the district in September 2004 as a drama teacher at the high school. She also served as an advisor for school plays and productions. Before coming to Old Bridge she worked in the Marlboro school district from 2001 to 2004 and as a teacher in Jersey City from 2000 to 2001, Bevacqua said.

Glide also worked as a substitute teacher with the Weehawken school district from 1999 to 2000. Glide has not yet hired an attorney, Bevacqua said.

In a letter to parents released today, Thursday, Dec. 4, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Simon Bosco said the district was "shocked to learn that a member of the high school staff has been accused of this serious crime."

The letter said school officials conducted an internal investigation after being told of the charges, but found no evidence any staff member knew of the alleged relationship.

"Old Bridge High School is committed to providing a safe environment for all children in our care and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement until their investigation is concluded," Bosco wrote.
