I also like 1st and Jersey, but the place you asked about on Grove (Manhattan Florist I believe it is named) has nice owners (elderly men) and I assume that if they do not have the flowers you are looking for they will promptly order. They don't ever seem to busy and it makes me sad :(

The owner once gave me a carnation when I walked by, just because. That was sweet!

I do not think the bashing is a good thing under any circumstances, but as a regular poster one should know it "happens time after time" and no one is safe from it, unfortunately. From what I wrote, I meant more that as long as you know you are doing what is right...that is the most important thing. It is great to give Tommy a pat on the back, but for those that are not, he shouldn't worry. There are always haters, like it or not :( I am glad Tommy was not hurt in this situation, because I honestly don't know that I could have done the same.

The fact that people have to start questioning/bashing/b*tching/whatever within mere minutes of that speaks more to the spirit of those posters than the original poster. Happens time after time, yes, but that's not a good thing.

Tommy,

I am happy that you stopped this man from getting behind the wheel (truly) but it seems like you came here for validation...and no offense, this isn't the place. You have been on the board long enough to know that some will agree and other's will not. I have to agree with Alan in the fact that there might have been a different first course of action, but I wasn't there and won't judge. My only point is that you do not need others to pat you on the back. If you know what you did is right you should revel in that glory

I found the same thing...it would be smart of him to do that. I also wonder if the police use FB and other social networking sites to gain evidence?

I saw a truck this weekend that looked eerily the same as the one from the videos (or maybe I am just paranoid), so I called in the plate number and direction the truck was heading. Then, I realized that I feel bad if they pull this guy over and it is obviously not the person they want. If it is him/her on the other hand, I will feel great about it. I dunno...I am conflicted.

Ummm isn't JC designed in such a way that most people park on the streets? I care about my car and take good care of it and can not afford to spend money on a monthly parking spot. That is ridiculous. If you don't know the rules of driving (i.e. are driving drunk) or respect other people's property/lives, you shouldn't be driving. Period.

I was parked on Erie and had my car practically totaled a few months back. The driver was drunk driving at 3am and hit 3 other cars. Thank god there was a witness who called the cops and stopped the woman from driving and killing herself or others.
How could this possibly be anyone's fault but her own?

Why would anyone be so dumb as to park a car that they care about on the street?

You get what you deserve if you're that trusting/naive that you think you can park on the street in Jersey City without some garbage truck or drunk or everyday jersey driver ruining your car.

Yeah, during the Wild West we could ride horses around town and tie them up in front of bars. Then when we got drunk, we could untie the horse from the hitching post and pass out on its back while it walked us home...

I have always enjoyed walking my dog to Enos Jones...there is some grass around the perimeter.

Everytime I have been it is crowded. During the Spring/Summer/Fall lots of little league games, skaters, and hoop-shooters.

See, this is what is wrong with our society...
You want a 16 year old...someone who has yet to become a woman. UGH

I have also often wondered why these teachers tend to be attractive. Obviously deeply disturbed or maybe just a midlife crisis. My 33 years old friend loves dating 20 year olds and that is pushing it in my opinion.

Anyhow, I thought New Jersey sexual consent laws state age 16 as the cutoff...
"A person must be 16 years of age to legally consent to sexual activity."
http://sexualassault.rutgers.edu/definition.htm

Doesn't make it morally right, but I am just curious.

I understand wanting to get all the facts...certainly! But I think it is best not to "attack" anyone...kind citizen or animal control. Although animal control has its faults it also does things for the good IMO.

Coster, I am deeply disturbed that you would think Cap'n John would lie about this situation...taking in an ailing cat and getting it the proper care. Why is there so much freaking pessimism? The JCPD systems are not perfect.

I am sorry, but I failed to mention the fact that the person I spoke to got all of the information directly from the system. So it is possible that the person failed to call the police or they filed the wrong information to the police or they live out of town. Take your pick or better yet, call the police technician yourself and than make your selection.

Coster,

Of course this really happened....
The person you spoke to at the JCPD obviously didn't know what they were talking about.
