The new Democratic party belligerence towards Russia and general militarism is fascinating. This is the party throughout the cold war wanted peace with the USSR, and thought we could learn a thing or two about Communism. Russia today, of course, isn't Communist at all and instead has a fairly conservative government (complete with a flat tax). Suddenly, you have people like Clinton wanting to fight Russia in Syria and Ukraine. People who thought Vietnam - which had Communists attempting to invade an allied democracy, wasn't a just war. But backing Islamist armies in Syria is fine (er, "moderate rebels"), backing a bunch of people in Ukraine who honor WW2 era leaders that sided with the Nazis is also a great idea. Also, while the Iraq war was a wasteful expense, we should pay for NATO without questioning any of the expenses. It is completely bizarre.

Of course he can't, this sort of deflection is what liberals do. Also note how hypocritical the "Russia" point is. During the 2012 debates, Romney made a big deal about the threat Russia posed yet Obama scoffed at him, reminding him the Cold War ended decades ago. Now, in an effort to rally the wagons around their thoroughly corrupt Dear Leader, we start to see this sort of fear mongering, from the party that always accuses Republicans of fear mongering.

'Slow and steady' growth? Obama is the first POTUS to never have a 3% rise in the economy. Hillary would be more of the same. And Obama got those abysmal numbers by doubling he national debt accrued by every single preceding POTUS combined. Just imagine how the economy would be if he hadn't mortgaged our kids lives.

Or vote for Trump... especially if your definition of status quo means protecting the democrat/republican Washington power base and more bad government. Struggle as he did communicating his points to the uninformed voter, people see the impact of illegal migration, the bubble economy (inc, TPP which she will sign) and national security (FBI/HoS just testified yesterday, expect more terror attacks). Let's wait and see how people react to the next email drops.

At least this thread has less racist comments than the others.
Ultimately, the debate showed us that one person is your typical stalwart politician to will protect the status quo and try to keep things on a slow and steady course, on that could be hampered by a downturn in the economy. The other person was shown to be someone with lofty ideas and with statements that truly aren't based in reality. Partisan lines are set. There is no such thing as the "undecided voter." The only thing many are undecided enough is whether they can hold their nose and vote Hillary when they really don't want to. I don't think the debate settled that decision all that much. Trump won't win, but it'll remain close because of this.

LOL, way to parrot what the oligarchs have signaled to scare people into keeping the corrupt status quo in place. Interest rates have been set artificially low and will need to be raised soon anyway. That will have a bigger impact on the markets than Trump.

There is a real cost associated with this possibility. For one thing, the financial markets value stability, opinions matter and translate to decisions where institutions invest their money. Trump is unpredictable.
