Nothin for nothing, I have boycotted Tender Shoot for like 7 years now.

The woman owner was so incredibly nasty to me, unnecessarily, and their produce is beyond reasonable expiration.

I won't be missing them. Just my experience.

While you are joking around, someone actually had a heart attack in the plaza and the ambulance couldn't get to them on Thursday. Still funny?

As someone else asked, could you provide a source? And, a full story?? The plaza barriers are easy to move, so an ambulance that "couldn't get to them" is highly implausible.

sad but people have heart attacks on the time and sometimes they occur in inaccessible spaces. Also, I believe the barriers are movable

Construction workers manage to park in the plaza every day. I'm sure there is more to this story.

They aren't closing because they were ready to retire. They're closing because the rent went up too high.

Even without Tendershoot, Downtown is pretty awesome for food shopping. There's PK, Lee's ShopRite, Key Food, and ACME all within walking distance. There's also that new market opening(theoretically) in the old Pathmark plaza space.

And I mean yeah... the Whole Foods.

I once chatted with the owner of a korean bodega in Brooklyn about why there are so few of them in here, and he said "beer". That beer sales make all the difference, particularly in staying open 24/7.

That does kind of suck, although I frequented P&K more than Tender Shoot, it's sad to see these places go. Maybe another similar shop will replace it. I think there is a huge need for these places.

Obvious answer is probably a Monty's expansion.

Huge bummer. This place and its owners are great.
