Anyone know anything about Dull Boy Bar? Their website doesn't have much. They liked a picture I tagged Jersey City on instagram...very subtle marketing!

They are opening at 364 Grove, which I think is the old Park and Sixth.

What would be natural would be a Oren's Daily Roast, since they roast their coffee steps away at 430 Communipaw.

It would be a better sign if it were a ModCup type of place, but filling in empty land is a good sign...

Cool, it's a great space for a neighborhood bar vibe.

I hope some other retail. Kind of doing well on the restaurant, hair salon and pizza front. We could use a decent toy store, furniture store or anything really.

On that note, does anyone know what's going on with the former mxplyx (or however you spell it) store? It seems that and A1 deli have been closed for a few months.
i'm not sure a toy or furniture store would do well. remeber myxplyzyk...dunfortunately, it didn't last that long; especially with ikea and boconcept not that far away.

a nice dessert shop, like financier, would be a nice addition to the nabe, imo.

I just saw that the space for Aspasia's boutique (on grove, next to the dry cleaner's) is for lease, $3000 / month.

I'd assume that spot is too small for a restaurant? Wonder what will take it's place.

The Boys and Girls Club is relocating there. Their current building will be knocked down.

They have already relocated to the new space. The rest of the ground floor will be various retail. When I spoke to the leasing office over the summer, they suggested that beechwood cafe would open up a second location at the corner of Marin and Morris.

Tbd in terms of progress or timing.

I'll take overly dramatic bullsht statements that have little to no bearing in reality for $800, Alex.

Re: 270 Tenth and 310 Tenth. I've been wondering what would be happening with that area for quite a while, thanks for the update. It does irk me that Lefrak continues to build and is never made to provide access to the waterfront/Newport PATH for residents from 6th to the Holland Tunnel? It's absolutely ridiculous that this enormous wasteland of parking lot blocks access for that many blocks to the rest of downtown JC? I know, I know, I can walk to 6th. I can cut through the parking lot. I get it but neither are amazing options? Cutting through a parking lot late at night? Or trying to make my way up 6th from Erie to Washington--I may as well try to cross safely during a Nascar race, I'd have a better shot of surviving. LeFrak should not have the right to block off that much access.

Stopped in the other day. It's called "Very," and it's a sweet little addition to the neighborhood. They mostly cater to men, but the small selection of women's clothing is worth a look.

I like how we've got a vintage triangle going on, with this new place, Tittlemouse, and Another Man's Treasure. They all curate their stuff pretty carefully, so you don't have to sift through any junk.

Also, T'mouse and Very have a few vintage knick-knacks. And if you're into that, be sure to check out Beekman's Lane one weekend. Their stuff is quirky, gorgeous, and reasonably-priced.

An upscale BYOB will be coming to 299 Marin Blvd, formerly occupied by Caf? 95.

The building is being expanded to include part of the parking lot entranced on Newark. It will be apartments. The original commercial space is quite small - you can see that they are expanding it to the rear. My guess, and only a guess, is that they won't be able to rent it until they have the rough space enclosed.

Personally, I'd like to see a Citerella-like store in there. Good quality meat, fish, cheese and prepared food.

Any word on the restaurant that was supposed to open in the old dry cleaners on Erie & Pavonia? They had done so much work initially but it's totally stalled.

Nice! Caffe Bene is opening a few locations in NYC too. It's not my favorite Korean/French bakery (Paris Baguette has stolen my heart), but it's pretty good.
