Add that to the learning center on Newark & Erie, the one behind Grove Bistro, and the one over by Dixon Mills, and you've got enough to compose a Baby Einstein Sonata.

It supposed to be a restaurant of some kind but it seems to be a long, long way from done.

I just did a quick count (or not so quick, in the end) of their menu items. Roughly 250 items. Not including beverages. They have more salads on their menu than restaurants that ONLY do salads. Why do people do this? By the time you've read the menu, you have no idea what you're hungry for anymore!

The pizza spot going into the old Sava Polish Diner is going to be called Alex's - they have menu's printed up and I believe they told me they should be opening in a week or so.

Here is what I found online:

I noticed the For Rent sign is gone from the small store front next to Rolon's Bar on Erie. Anyone know what's going in there?

Also, saw produce being delivered to the Polish Pizza place on Grove yesterday. If opening doesn't occur by this weekend, don't eat the salad

And I was told the other day that the repair of the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway in front of Port Liberte will be completed in about 6 weeks-while it only now blocks off the last 1/3 of a mile or so of the path before it terminates at the Bayonne border, it has stopped walker and bikers from the nice route alongside the canal inside Port Liberte.

I've noticed that Porta Pizza (next to Two Boots) has colorized their wooden construction wall outside. Their expected opening was supported to be at the end of last month, does anyone have an updated opening week? Also will this location also feature a dance club?

Instead of 'what's going there', how about 'when's it going to be finished?'

Goldman Sachs, can't you fix the building and take down the scaffolding? It took less time for the Empire State Building to be erected than Goldman Sachs to repair whatever the problem is with its tower.

The metal sculptures and murals gave character to this otherwise ugly skinny industrial garage..an industrial vestige on an otherwise normal residential street.

When the new, presumably folk-art-free condominium building goes up, will we remember that men actually worked with welding torches and built things here? Remember the everyday sight of delivery trucks unloading tanks of acetylene gas and rebar? The sight of tiki lamps, a 9 foot tin man and huge metal angel wings on the sidewalk?

Damn I will miss you, ugly green building. In your absence, Coles St. will tingle with the phantom memory of a more lively industrial past.

Oh, this makes me sad. I loved that green building. (And patronized that business more than once.)

I was wondering about this place too. I noticed the architects for the renovation are http://agenciegroup.com

They have an impressive portfolio, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

The facade has a brick arch into which the door is set - pretty hokey. What we really need is a stroller garage on restaurant row and/or a dinner time day care (evening care?) center.

Probably just another pizza place!
or another ice cream place. I think we're fast approaching peak frozen dairy dessert, if we haven't hit it already.

If you are refering to the old Synergy gym, a sign says RAVAL, a tapas restaurant. Anyone know what RAVAL may mean? Maybe Ray and Valerie are the owners???

Does anyone know anything about the old GoldCoast fitness space - it was in the basement of the C.H. Martin store at 151 Newark Ave. It has a sign outside that says the lower AND upper level is for lease - but no one ever answers the email listed.

I don't know if this has been mentioned already but does anyone know what is being built on JFK Blvd just north of JSQ between the school and the old VW dealership?

It is already 5 or 6 stories work seems to be moving pretty quickly,
