So according to the craigslist post, the entire business is included in the 4k/month rent. I have no idea how much a business like Basic would go for to buy......200k perhaps? So, 4k a month for the business and the space seems like a good deal.

This is news to me ! So where do we go for our morning wake up, and how long till basic pulls out ? I wonder if Vladimir secretly owns Basic and is selling the business, or just renting the space. Wouldn't the owners of the Basic Coffee Shop be the ones to sell the business and Vladimir be the one to do the leasing ?? I guess it means that all the coffee making equipment stays and the business owners get nothing, and whoever rents the space will continue making it a coffee shop. Maybe part of the deal is that before the owners get kicked out they have to train the new owners the business.

And just in case anyone needs it, the case number for the complaint filed with the NJ Department of Environmental Protection is 1003311152903, filed with operator #39.

Can't something be done about irresponsible property owners?

When illegal dumping is placed in front of your property it becomes your property. Yes clean it up ! The J.C.I.A. will remove it for you just tell them it was illegaly dumped. Dumpsters can be placed on the street, dumpster containers with wheels cannot be placed on the sidewalk (287-8H) in front of property unless it has a 20 day permit from the Div. of Traffic & Engineering (201) 547-4470 in the DPW. Call the fire dept, and find out his insurance company if he has any. Actually this is found money for anyone that happens to trip over the stuff.

I pass by everyday and the amount of garbage varies day by day, don't know where he's putting it.

Yesterday I saw the JCIA and a couple of people from the fire dept getting into their cars which were parked in front of the property, I don't know if they were there to investigate complaints or what but they definitely are aware of the situation.

I wish Basic would clean up all the broken glass on their corner, no matter where it came from, it is now in front of your property, clean it up!

unfortunately, the amount of garbage piling up on the curb right across from the building is offensive ... perhaps more offensive than many of the infantile statements above ...

sadly, heights has a point ... which he kills ... through a (semi-offensive) racial stereotyping that distorts the fact that many people buying property (not only the first time) act as they were the king of the entire continent and not of some miniscule domain ... it is not a fob thing or characteristic ... it is a humane characteristic, but this stereotypical racebaiting kills the core of the argument ...

that said ... i encourage everyone living on 8th street or walking by the burned building to call the JCIA (201) 432-4645, about the garbage deposited on the street ...

this a$$h@t guy is too cheapo to even rent a container, and piles his burnt building crap up on the street where dogs and kids, and kids with dogs congregate ...

There ARE things you just don't know about. Moreover, I fail to see how you can give the benefit of the doubt to someone so despicable. (Do a little googling; I'm not sure I could paste a link to what I saw here--a different forum blocked it for content. What kind of a site could be blocked for content???)

OR it could force him not to do a half-assed job so it doesn't happen again. I hope the the building inspectors look at all his buildings because of this.

The property owner is a nusense to the community.

A lot of times when foreign people buy property in America they feel they are on top of the world and can run their empire any way they want to. In the case of this Russian he has a very rough way of doing things. "I buy house, do what I want" He probably has no regard for renters whether his own or neighboring ones. He has real work to do so to be bothered by incidentals is silly, time wasted. Call the NID (201) 457-5683, exterior
the JCIA (201) 432-4645, garbage
the Housing Code Authority (201) 547-4824, interior
the Zoning Dept (201) 547-6564, proper work application
the Building Dept. (201) 547-5055/68 creating structures
make sure you create a PAPER TRAIL !

What multiple violations inside?
Do you know this for a fact or is it just gossip?

Just walked by, Crap everywhere. First floor wide open and no one working.

Part of me thinks you're right. The other part thinks if he'd been nicer to his neighbors over the years people would be more apt to give him any lead way. But he wasn't and we don't.

If your expecting this guy to be responsible Good Luck. If he needs more time to get things sorted out then he shouldn't leave dangerous debris on the street. As far as Insurance? Oh BOY!!

It's even more unfair for Vlad to sully the pristine chromium fields of Hamilton Park with his disgusting burnt furniture. It would be far preferable for him to leave that stuff inside, where any chemicals emanating from the burnt husks will be safely scrubbed by his tenants lungs, thereby protecting the squirrel, feral cat, Eddie the Hobo, and opossum from the fumes.

Well last night was Garbage night on 8th St but the stuff was still there this morning when I walked by.

Report it to NID (201) 547-5683. I'd give it at least a day. The landlord may have made arrangements to remove the debris.
