Picked up some take out tonight. Got the veggie tempura appetizer and the shrimp pad thai. Awesome. The decor is great. They are a welcome addition to the downtown area.

Wow-- Rainbow Shop is open for business. I've lived here for over 20 years and never saw a turnaround that fast. Storefronts usually stay closed for months on Newark Ave.

I think my math may be off, but you've lived there for 5 years (60 months) and you've paid her $70,000 in total. You pay over $1100 for a basement apartment with a windowless bedroom?

In 1990 I paid $750 for a one bedroom in Hamilton Park. There's no way you'll find that now (except for maybe an illegal basement apartment).

A friend of mine lived very close to that A&P. I didn't put 2+2 together. It closed a few months ago.

Years ago the A&P was a Waldbaums which was bought out by A&P.

I actually like that A&P. I think it's better than Shoprite or the Pathmark on Grove. I also like the Pathmark on 440. I used to go there when I got off of work at 5am. I also shop at the Walmart in Secaucus but I stopped going temporarily to avoid the holiday crowds.

I don't have a dog but I've lived here long enough (20 years) to know that some (not all) dog owners are jerks.

I always carry plastic bags with me in my nap sack; most of the time it's because I'm too lazy to take out the plastic bag I used to carry my lunch. I've found this to be helpful when a dog owner is remiss in picking up dog shit. I run up to them with a bag and say, "Here! You must have run out of bags. Some dogs are double deucers." Then I talk to them about dogs until they pick up their dog's/dogs' shit.

Stay classy A&P

I went to A&P around 1pm this past Sunday. We noticed that they ran out of things in produce and in the bread, dairy and toilet paper sections. Understandable-- a lot of places had trouble shipping to this area because of the snowstorm. I gave them the benefit of the doubt even though this was almost a full week after the storm.

The thing that really bothered me was that there were store clerks in every aisle changing the prices on various products. None of these prices were sale prices. A lot of these items went up about 40 cents.

I know nothing about supermarkets or how they price things. As a consumer I took this as a slap in the face.

Anyone know where I can buy quinoa preferably in bulk. A&P sells it but I can't bring myself to spend $4.59 for a small box

I walked two feet from my front steps to drop off my garbage and I stepped in your dog's dookie.

I didn't realize I stepped in your dog's crap until I walked in my apt. #OOPS# YOU!!

I have pets of my own. Since you're such an irresponsible dog owner I'm sure you don't take your dog to the vet. Thanks a lot for exposing them to whatever your mangy dog has.

You're an asshole.

EDIT: I didn't add the #OOPS# YOU

Let me guess-- you're a cop OR related to a cop. How's that shield working out for you?

Well, my personal choice is not paying a 33% tax increase while seeing SOME police decide to flaunt their personal wealth.

This city is in a financial crisis. Seeing a cop in a luxury vehicle is a slap in the face of the tax payer.

I'm really glad this article was posted. I have no idea what JC police make but I am FLOORED by their personal vehicles.

In the past two months, I've driven by construction/road work and there's always a JC cop around. I saw one sitting in his Mercedes SUV. I saw another one getting something out of his completely tricked-out Hummer and another sitting in a Cadillac Escalade.

I do realize that police put their lives on the line and are important and all, but since when did being a police officer replace being in "waste management?"

My property taxes went up $588. I'm unemployed and it's getting increasingly difficult to make ends meet. I have to be honest, it pisses me off when I see a cop at a construction site sitting on his ass in a luxury vehicle.

One time she was waving traffic on when she stops me in the intersection of Jersey and York. She has the kids cross and turns back to me. She starts screaming at me for being in the middle of the intersection. I calmly explained that this is where she stopped me. She then waved me on. As I passed her I told her that she really sucks at her job.

It was great seeing her have a meltdown from my rear view mirror.

Please forgive my stupid question, but this is THE tax raise they told us about, right? Are they going to raise our taxes again in the near future?

I can only hope that the door-to-door assessment will lower my taxes somewhat. Looking at my mortgage statement, my principal and interest combined are dwarfed by my taxes!!

Will the rebates be issued this year? When do the applications get sent out? I could have sworn I'd get them in July and have my rebate would come sometime in the fall.

My taxes went up $580!! That is one full mortgage payment. They have GOT TO BE KIDDING!!! I can't afford this on unemployment!!

I keep thinking of "No taxation without representation!" With the exception of a few council people, this administration doesn't give a damn about its constituents.

Ronald Reagan wanted a wall torn down and he got it done. Now the Republicans/Tea Party members want to build a wall. it would be great if we could find good, cheap non-union labor to build it.

Oh.

A few blocks North of Christ Hospital.

It's on the left side (GOING NORTH) with a yellow, red, and blue awning. (RIGHT if you are going SOUTH TOWARD the hospital).

The number is (201) 386-8400

My husband and I tried it the day after the Ecuadorian Festival after we were handed a menu. We had been wanting to give it a try. Muy yummy!

My husband ordered the seafood soup (very authentic he said) and the rice and beans with beef. I had shrimp in coconut sauce served with yellow rice (my new favorite dish!).

The items are mostly Latin but the do have a few dishes that are Italian, like shrimp cocktail, calamari, caesar salad, and shrimp fra diablo.

We went in at a pretty quiet time (5pm on a Monday). The owners were very nice and, again, the food was delicious!
