Dryer is not working.
A frigidaire washer/dryer unit.

Did a search here didn't find anything.
Any experiences good or bad?
Thanks in advance.

If you think 25 feet is too much, then go to a city council meeting and speak on it. Contact your ward and at large councilpersons.
But sometimes even at that length, with a SUV, a stop sign can still be blocked.
Some corners have "No Parking from here to corner" up around the Hamilton park area here. definitely less than the law the law on the books, maybe petition them to add those in your area. Although they are often blatantly ignored esp at night.

Personally I am glad they are finally ticketing on that. Just because everyone else is doing it and they ticket sporadically doesn't mean it isn't against the law. Just try crossing Jersy Ave sometimes you are halfway thru the street before the traffic can be visible. Very unsafe.

To the person who took a picture because the red painting on the curb was fading - There is no law on the books that parking on a painted curb is against the law. Yes they can be helpful deterrents but it's up to you to know the law.

Owning a car is a privilege not a right be so people need to be responsible.

Gravy keep you dog agenda on your own thread stop trying to inject it into others.

Re: should Jersey City create and implement on-street bicycle lanes?

If cyclists have to follow the rules of the road don't they have to stop for pedestrians (at corners)? Even if they are in a bike lane and regardless if the pedestrian is paying attention? I know if doored the cyclist is not at fault but would they be if they hit a pedestrian?

Just like the handful of dog owners that make the group as a whole look bad, I always find it funny when people complain about bikers rights meanwhile they ride on the sidewalk, blow thru stop signs and red lights, ride against traffic, etc......

Oh, and yes I would like to see more bike lanes.

Bicyclists are only a hazard to pedestrians if one, or the other, is doing something wrong. I have ZERO sympathy for the hapless pedestrians that get yelled at, bumped, or plain ran over, by cyclists who are following all the rules (within bike lane, not salmoning and paying attention). Too many clueless idiots texting while walking, talking into their cell phones without paying attention, or simply completely unaware of their surroundings. This is especially true of tourists on the Brooklyn Bridge (mentioned below) and harried commuters during rush hour. Regardless, watch where you are going. It's that simple.

To the inconsiderate cyclists that go against traffic, or ride on sidewalks, well, they are equally clueless and deserve to be hassled by cops and despised by pedestrians.

Fair enough. But you were fine with Mayor Elect Fulop's association with Sean Connors?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09 ... n-american_n_1861195.html

Actually I wasn't. I don't think that worked out too well for him either.

I'll be honest when you really support a candidate you can look, maybe naively, at that as someone going to the good side as opposed to someone going to the dark side.

He never led rallies to impeach Fulop. And while He called Fulop UnAmerican, he at least gave the lack of response to Sandy as the reason he switched, as to Levin, he just well, he just changed his mind. And really, lots of people switch sides for elections. I really can't compare these two til half of Fulops staff is brought up on Federal Bribery charges.

@Vig "Clever ploy" was a term someone used very early on in this thread. I can see how what I wrote implied it was you so I apologize. But you did say "If we knew his true intentions" which connotates a ploy, in my defense.

I'm his "neighbor" and I had a problem supporting him, or are you in some sort of inner circle?
I voted for Dan his last 2 runs. I have donated to his last campaign. I was at his rallies to oust Healy, and I am personally insulted by his decision.
Unless his "clever ploy" was to secretly tape Healy talking about breaking campaign or embezzlement laws, he will never have my vote again in the future.

I get it though. I'm sure he knew he was going to be losing some votes like mine, probably thought by teaming up with the big machine he would get 2 votes for every 1 lost. I really thought this race would be a lot closer. But he lost more than an election this time - he lost some integrity.

The thing is this wasn't just switching sides to get in, this was teaming for someone he vehemently tried to get impeached. This is going against your past principles. This is what hurt him most.

The irony is that I would probably have voted for him if he wasn't on the Healy ticket. As big as a Fulop supporter that I am, I think having people on the council
who weren't on the mayor's ticket helps spark debate. Would I have rather it been someone like Dan than Epps? Yes. But the Dan 3 years ago.
For all his drunken escapades, Healy can be pretty smart. He never touched the money. By putting Dan on his ticket he silenced one of his most vocal critics.

As harsh as I am on him, I hope Dan continues. The city needs political activists like him to keep the government in check, yes, even a Fulop administration.
But that is where he should stay. Three times now the voters have spoken;
we don't want him at the big boy's table.

Unfortunately, there are always going to be a few bad apples. These people could move out and a few more would move in.

The only thing they would respond to is $$. If the cops don't fine them they will keep doing it no matter what their neighbors say to them. same goes with people running thru stop signs and parking where they shouldn't.

You gave them a chance. Next time call the cops.

I also pulled a big "Corrupt" sticker off the center of my neighbor's sign. Saw a couple on 8th street that were closer to the door (I would have to go up the stoop) that I didn't get. If you have a Fulop sign you might want to double check it. The stickers are the same colors, blue and white.

Ironic given the campaign that is most likely doing it.

?Given Mayor Jerramiah Healy?s confirmation that he is indeed the ?JC Official 4? cited in FBI criminal complaints, we call for his immediate resignation, as well as that of Council President Mariano Vega. The implication that both men have engaged in activities that compromise their ethical responsibilities to their constituents warrants their immediate removal from office?

I guess you could start by asking yourself what has Healy done about it in two terms.

Email both of them, I bet Fulop responds and Healy doesn't.

Thee are a number of suitable sayings i could throw in here to state the obvious, but "Flip Flopper" seems to be most appropriate.

It seems Dan is so willing to have a "seat at the party" that he is willing to throw his independent values out the window and team up with the very man who he tried to oust . How can I trust he won't decide to do an 180 on any other issue in the future? Because of a few "Dan is still Dan" posts while he says nothing?

Like Flounder in the beginning of Animal House, I wonder how many times the voters have to lead Dan to the loser's table before he realizes that he really isn't wanted at Omega Theta Pi.

I'm having trouble understanding the thought process here. Fulop adds machine players like Connors and Lopez and Valentin to his ticket but gets a free pass because he needs to make some compromises to win (i.e. the ends justify the means). Dan Levin does the same exact thing and you won't vote for him ever again?

Here are the facts.
Healy surrounds himself with crooks and the feds come down on his crew. he himself escapes being prosecuted.
Levin leads an unsuccessful campaign to get him impeached.
A few years later Levin is running on Healy's ticket.

Assuming you're not a fan of Healy to begin with you may either:
A) say that Dan is using them, ends justify the means, or
B) say that Dan went against everything he preached; by hooking up with them went against his "against the establishment" credibility.

Either of these interpretations are fair. I go with B.
I never said anything about Fulop in my post, but when half of the people on his ticket and deputy staff are brought up on bribery charges, feel free to come back for comparisons.

My first guess as well. As someone who uses this intersection fairly often, it's another example of where cars are parked too close to the curb, and you're often in an unsafe position before you are able to see if the Brunswick traffic is clear.

When I had mine done about 5 years ago, I used the 14th street garden center. They were the cheapest and nicest. Some contractors would make an appointment and then never show up or return calls. I have pavers which i like. They have never gotten uneven but they do get some weeds in between. I do really like them though.
