Geese travelling through Target's parking lot

I took this video today. Thought it was funny as cars were in such a hurry that they snaked around the geese. As if 30 extra seconds would have killed them to wait.

Great video -- thanks for sharing!

Another family outing to Target. They grow out of things so quickly at that age.

That must have ben after I saw them lounging by the pool, I mean puddle, close to the 14th st lot exit.

It's amazing they survive all the feral cats and off leash dogs. I know geese can be aggressive, but that's a LOT of goslings to protect!

"Any animal that lacks the ability to reason that a 2 ton car moving toward them at 35 mph is a threat, deserves die - you would do them a favor - they will eventually learn."

I'll apply that philosophy when I drive down the Christopher Columbus ramp off the turnpike next time. Those imbecile humans refuse to learn, even after they put up guards, for them not to cross the road there.

the same can be said of pedestrians who walk into traffic because 'they have the right of way'

I am sure if geese knew how to choose drug, sex, and money over their young they would.

Some years ago there was a disappearance of ducks from town ponds in some areas of Minnesota. It turned out that Vietnamese Hmong refugees settled there thought it was great there were so many yummy ducks so close at hand.

I wold be pretty cautious about eating geese that have been grazing the grass in our local brownfields. Greenery picks up way more toxic waste than fruits.

I wish some people could be eaten, but those people are way too gross.

Who needs a crossing guard? Canada geese family brings Jersey Avenue traffic to a halt

by The Jersey Journal
Thursday May 14, 2009, 4:06 PM

A family of Canada geese cross 18th Street this afternoon.

It's true you see something new in Jersey City every day.

This scene, mom and dad Canada geese stopping traffic to escort their goslings across 18th Street in Downtown Jersey City, was caught by photographer Joe Shine. The driver of the van even got out to take a photo with his cell phone.

Resized Image

There's always a straggler in the bunch.
