Accurate Credit Bureau is great. They have something called landlord preferred and it provides background and credit check for about $30.

They have a standard application that you can use and you send in the application to get the credit run.

Fast turn around too. You have to sign up with your license.

Hope this helps.

Opinion on selling in journal square - now or wait?

Hello,

I have a place in journal square in st johns condo complex that is rented out. I am considering selling the unit in order to buy something else in a different area.

In your opinion is now a good time to sell and if not how long do you think would be a good time to wait for all the redevelopment to kick in.

Let me know your thoughts.

Hi,

I lived in St Johns Condos for 7 years as a single woman in her early thirties. I felt totally safe there. Late at night I would take a taxi home but walked all the other times. The 3 buildings are gated with a doorman at each building and security guards. JFK is all lit up for the entire walk home.

Part time job question
#11
Home away from home
Home away from home

Hello,

A friend of mine has a paralyzed daughter that needs care most of the day. The family struggles financially and she is looking for a part time job that has flexible hours where she can make some money to help support her family.

She is not a high school graduate and I assume she would get a retail, fast food or other minimum wage job.

Unfortunately her daughter has lots of doctors appointments which gets in the way of full time employment. I am hoping to help her find a job of some sort in the Jersey City area.

Does anyone know of anything?

Please let me know.

Do you like winning? Raffle to support paralyzed JC girl's uninsured medical expenses

Hello,

Last year my little sister became paralyzed after being shot in her face in a domestic dispute. I have been doing everything in my power to help her and have already raised over $25,000 for her medical care. I have no shame and I try to share this story with everyone I can.

I created the Luck of the Irish raffle where winners can win prizes each day in March and a grand prize on March 31, 2014.? The total amount of prizes is over $5,500 and the grand prize is $800. All prizes have been donated and there are some great prizes including spas, restaurants, Disney tickets, off Broadway shows, signed sports items, golf resorts, NYC attractions and many more.

Tickets cost 1 for $10 and 3 for $25.? Each winning ticket will be entered back into the raffle for the grand prize.? Perhaps you are feeling lucky and want to purchase some tickets or spread the word to friends and family. All proceeds will go to Help Hope Live in honor of Yesenia.

All of the details are below and you can purchase tickets at the link below.?

Thank you for considering purchasing a ticket.

Hello jclist,

I've promoted some events for my little sister before. I've had a booth at the Hoboken Arts and Music Festival, ran a 5K and now I am hosting a raffle to raise money for my little sister.

You may know the story - last year my little sister was shot in the face in a domestic dispute. She is now paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. We have had two articles in the star ledger as well.

It is my mission to help her. I am having a Luck of the Irish raffle and will raffle off prizes each day in March. Companies have donated over $5,500 in prizes. Tickets are 1 for $10 and 3 for $25 and can be purchased at the link below. The prizes are awesome - See for yourself at the attached pdf

Thanks so much for voting and please continue to spread the word.

There are other ways to help out. I do fundraising through HelpHopeLive.org which is a 501c3 that helps fundraise for spinal cord injury patients.

You can make a donation at the link below.

https://m.helphopelive.org/campaign/2876

In February I will also be selling raffle tickets for a Luck of the Irish Raffle. To date I have collected over $4,000 in prizes and will raflle off a prize a day in March.

Please look out for details. :)

Hello,

My little sister is part of a contest to win $10K offered through KIND (the company that makes those fruit and nut bars). They select one person a month and I nominated my little sister who was recently paralyzed from domestic violence and is now in a wheelchair.

My hope for Yesenia is to get her van modified to be wheelchair accessible.

Please vote through facebook and spread the word. You just click on the link, connect to facebook and then choose a kind deed and then you have voted. Please share and then share again. Thanks.

Hello,

Does anyone know of a company that has wheelchair accessible taxis or transportation options?

I am looking to go from Jersey City to midtown NYC with a wheelchair and 3 other people.

The NJ Transit Access Link only travels within the state and does not go across to NY.

Any help you can provide would be great.

Make a Wish 5K Liberty State Park - Im running while pushing my little sister in her wheelchair

Hello.

This sunday I will be running the Make a Wish 5K in Liberty State Park. This run will be the most meaningful run of my life as I push my little sister in her wheelchair while running.

My little sister became paralyzed in January after being shot in her face in a domestic violence incident. I am running to fundraise for her uninsured medical expenses. I have teamed up with Help Hope Live to do my fundraising and they are a 501c3 and all donations are tax deductible.

Would you consider sponsoring me in this race? Perhaps you have some free time and want to come cheer us on Sunday at 10AM at the park. There will be a team of 15 runners all wearing the Team Yesenia hot pink t-shirts.

Re: PATH Train Incident
#23
Home away from home
Home away from home

I am not sure what happened on this specific train but I had a similar incident that I did not report. The man would get on the same train as me for many days while commuting. He would place his hands in certain positions so when the train moved he would be able to grab and grope me.

The first time I thought maybe it was an accident that he had his hand all over my ass. The next time I decided to scream at him - told him if he touched me again he would be arrested. He never rode the same car as me again.

The issue is that people are crazy these days and you never know how someone will react if you say something.

Ladies watch out for the perverts.

I am not sure where in JC you live but here are some options for you.

There is the 126 bus from Port Authority that gets you all the way to the Hoboken Path train. Cost is $3.20 each way. This runs until 2 am but since there are no path trains to Hoboken this bus gets crowded.

There are jitneys that run on Kennedy from Port Authority and from what I remember they cost about $1. I might be wrong on the price. Not sure how late they run.

Also there are buses that go to journal square from port authority as well. There may be connections then to local buses.

In my opinion all options kind of stink since they are an inconvenience for all. I used to take the path to work and now I have to take a ferry that is 3X the cost.

Maybe next week the silly Path will get back to their senses and run the path all through the night.

Google NJ transit for options.

There is actually quite a big penalty for having an illegal apartment. The people living there have to move right away. The landlord gets a huge fine. I read of illegal apartments where the guy was fined $10K per illegal apartment. I'm assuming that would make most people upset.

Re: Local running tracks

Home away from home

Lincoln Park has a running track which attracts a handful of people during daylight hours.

The actual park has man made trails in the grass right next to the roadway on most of the loop. The loop of the main park is probably 1 1/2 miles (give or take).

Liberty State park is much bigger and you can run on the grass there as well, small loops are about 4 miles and you can make bigger loops up to about 6 - 7 miles or more.

Pershing Field track is all dirt and longer than a standard track (approx 1/3 mile)

Hope that helps.

Best bike route from Journal Square to 14th Street in Hoboken?

Home away from home

I am considering training with a group of cyclists and they start on 14th Street in Hoboken in the early morning hours before work.

Does anyone know a good, safe, quick route from Journal Square to 14th Street in Hoboken.

When I ride to liberty state park I go down Newark ave but I wonder if its safe to ride down Palisade to the 14th street bridge and go that way.

I would be biking around 530 am.

Let me know your thoughts.
