Gallerie Hudson did a beautiful job for me. Definitely not inexpensive, but when the initial quote was too high for me, they had great suggestions to get it down to my price point. Everyone was super friendly and happy to help. I'll go back, for sure.

+2 for Gallerie Hudson. They've done beautiful work for me too. I dropped off a custom poster for framing yesterday. Great to work with, but not inexpensive.

Big Drum did good work for me, for a good price. A couple of weeks ago they were running a 20% off sale. Not sure if it's still going on.

Hudson Camera on Newark Ave. right by the Grove St. Path station does a great job of custom framing.

+1. Just had a crap ton of stuff done by them. They do GREAT work, are extremely helpful, and reasonably priced. Framing is never cheap. You can get 20% off your order if you sign up for their email list.

I've had a couple of prints matted and framed at Hudson Gallerie on the corner of Newark and Jersey Ave. The owner has a great eye and will make suggestions on the matting color and frame style. Beautiful work, but not cheap.

I would recommend Big Drum - they've done beautiful work for me - i've used them many times. They moved from the mall to their own space - i think it's 127 First Street, it's among the warehouses downtown heading towards the waterfront area. It's a nice space.

Thanks for both of the suggestions. I'll give them a try. I know there also used to be a place in the mall called Big Drum - don't know what happened to them...

We have had some custom framing done there. Excellent, excellent work, but not inexpensive. We worked with the owner who spent a lot of time with us, offering very good suggestions. We were framing some original art, so it was worth it.

I like Gallerie Hudson on the corner of Jersey and Newark.
One option would be to see if they have any preframed affordable artwork that would fit your diploma and then put your diploma in that frame. This worked for my map which wasn't a standard size. However, they do custom work as well. Good luck.

Upstaris Art Gallery
896 Bergen Avenue Jersey City, NJ 07306-4302 (201) 963-6444 This is a gallery that also houses art classes. Marge Colovito the owner is a wonderful person that has been at that location forever she has a kind but informative way with her students and customers. I had a large print re-framed with new glass put in, it was originally done else where but after meeting Marge and seeing her work I felt confident. The frame came out excellent. The location is just around the corner from Journal Square near the old Canton Chinese Restaurant and P.S. #11 school across from the Provident Bank. Academy St. is the nearest cross street.

I need a good place with decent prices to frame a diploma and a couple of prints that won't fit in standard frames. This is not an original Degas or anything, so I'm thinking economical but well done. Any recommendations?
