I live on 9th st. I have hi-def cameras pointed out my windows. If you could let me know the date and time of the burglary, I can search my recordings to see if the car or perps passed my house at or around the time....

Downloaded the video off youtube using keepvid.com brought it into Final Cut Pro X and tried to pull out detail. Also, tried photoshop but it's just not in there. Good Luck. I've been keeping an eye out for the car, will be super easy to pick out if I spot it. If I do I will take a photo of the plate.

Snibe- PM me your email. The person whose video camera it was burned a copy of the footage onto DVD, which I downloaded before giving it to police. Its an mpeg4 and filmed at 25 frames per second.

langdonalger - I work with videos professionally and have lots of software at my disposal. I you have the original file available to share, I'd be happy to take a crack at blowing up/enhancing the images.

earlier plate enhancement seemed to show a 2 at the begining of the string. in this attempt there seems to be a 3 highlighted mid-plate.
 for what it's worth...

A better approach would be to use the exact time and direction the car was traveling to pick up the car on one of many cameras at intersections throughout the neighborhood which are likely to be of better quality. Unfortunately that would need to be done by the JCPD who probably don't give a crap about this case.

 not much to work with with so much video compression. I think that more than facial detail, the perp will be IDed based on his walk and clothing. the heavy stiped hat and bright striped shirt might strike a bell.

What about taking a copy of the footage to those hitech imaging places - They might be able to do something to help see the tag on the car and the fat-mans face

Even the get-away car is dodgy......the inside of the door is painted white. The car also looks like a Honda - hard to tell
Also the dude isn't wearing gloves....did the cops finger print anything ?

Looks also like the right rear hubcap is missing. Gray or light blue sh**-box 80's Toyota Cressida(?). Heavy dude that looks hispanic or black and likes stripes. Almost no doubt they will be back to the area unless it was a one-time, inside job. Keep your eyes open people.

im not sure if i am helping but with the video on full screen it looks like the plates have the colors of Pennsylvania, blue on top yellow on bottom. does anyone else see those colors or is it just me? its barely noticeable but the top seems to be darker than the bottom.
i cant see anything in the enhanced pics of the plate except for that first letter, which like said before, seems to be a Z

I am no expert but I'll try to help. I was burgled in a very similar way once and also had access to CCTV footage.
Here's what I've come up with:  (Click on it to see it bigger.) I think the first letter looks like a Z. Then a J or an A. Then I don't know. I hope this can be somehow helpful! Good luck in catching this @hole!

That looks like JC List member Lunawolf3 walking the dogs. Perhaps she remembers seeing something? Also, it looks like the perp has keys. That car looks like a mid 80's Cressida.

On this youtube link below is video of my brother in law's house being burgled. The burglar is caught on video entering and exiting with a tv under his arm. You can also see his escape vehicle.
