Re: Jersey City: From a Skate Park to the World

thanks @stc4blues. you one of the few people who actually want to see this city grow into what it should be. unlike these idiots who hate anything different and "cool" being put in this city then complain why nothing ever worthwhile is ever built.

and to answer PBW, a city park is already a haven for graffiti artist so why not have an institution that allowes them to portray their art in a manner that doesn't destroy property.

do you idiots understand what this means...it will kill the small business here. walmart is known for doing that, so why bring in something that will kill something that is already struggling in this city.

the only good thing that would come from wal mart is the fact it would get rid of most 99cents stores.

it would be helpful but i don't think we ned it. like said before JC is small enough that getting to any neighborhood in the city is virtually easy, not like in other cities where neighborhoods can be miles and miles apart. i don't oppose it just don't see much point in it. but if you feel that it would make things easier by all means.......

Eminent Domain McGinley Sq
#13
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

So, coming from the Hudson Reporter, eminent domains "notices" are being sent to home owners in the McGinley Sq area. If you have not seen the article here it is:
http://hudsonreporter.com/view/full_s ... te_lead_story_left_column

So has anyone who lives in the area gotten the notice? I'm hoping this is the start of the plans that are going forth for the area to improve. Granted, eminent domain is not the way to go in my opinion and is a cruel way to get people out of the area, but nonetheless that area can possibly become a great location and finally change.

Edit: "Home Owners"

@Grove

doubt they are related to the shootings in Newark, but knowing both cities i could be wrong. if they are realted we might have another serial shooting killer like we unfortunately did last year

its quiet, has its bad moments just like any other area. dont thin there are any sections 8 housing in that part of the height. Most families are lower middle income. not dirt poor but working class, for the most part.

Concerning the 10 years ago thing, the heights has definitely improved.

yea i have been seeing them around the city on what feels like every corner. Most likely has to do with the schools and coming from experience in JC public high schools, are probably there to prevent any major fights from happening. Plus i only see them in the area of high schools. if they were just there for crossing safety, they should have been around all school year long. That would be my only guess but i could be wrong.

im not sure if i am helping but with the video on full screen it looks like the plates have the colors of Pennsylvania, blue on top yellow on bottom. does anyone else see those colors or is it just me? its barely noticeable but the top seems to be darker than the bottom.

i cant see anything in the enhanced pics of the plate except for that first letter, which like said before, seems to be a Z

don't think so. you could walk to ferry street which is right in front of Pershing field, i think that's the only other option you have that's close other than biking to HBK terminal.

Re: Embankment- Update Thread

Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

im want the embankment to stay in place but to make it into another park? i think this city is taking building a park a little too the extreme, i think we have a great number of parks with still more parks being proposed to be built. Instead can it be a botanical garden or a small zoo where animals of that size can be kept, nothing like an elephant or such, but something along those lines. i like the current plan so its not to say its sucks.

It just seems that creativity for this city is really low, and this could allow for someone to come up with a rejuvenating idea for the city and to bring people into the city to"chill" instead of having them here only becuase they are on their way to ny. and having another park wont bring people here just to "chill"

no one wonder everyone is making fun of Jc for being soft, smh. complaining about some noise, put some earmuffs on, there solved your problem. noise, even inconsiderate noise is a part of city life. Until you do something it won't stop. It's like this site has become the perfect spot to complain and do nothing about it.

so then if you won't do anything......shut the fuk up and stop bytching because your doing nothing to help. Thats the problem with you idiots, quick to blame everybody and points fingers as to why this city is in a shythole. Obviously not everything is your fault but actually taking initiative and try to help would make this a better place, no?

So either get up of your ass or move your ass out of here, we don't need more lazy people in JC who complain about other lazy people

how about you people stop bytching and start a volunteer community group. Standing there and complaining about it doesn't do anything. Not helping clean this city up is just as bad as those that throw there garbage on the floor.....smh

Re: Student brutally Beaten by Thugs at Dickinson HS

Its Dickinson, its always like that and has always been like that. I graduated from there in 2008 and its still no different, but believe me it has gotten better from where i was there which is the sad part. A lot of people have given up on that school which kind of explains why things don't change there. Even when i went cops rarely showed up becuase most were scared becuase cops themselves would get jumped and beaten, it's happened plenty of times while i went there. Only time cops really came is when there was a riot happening which obviously goes on a lot longer than a mere jumping. The school has many issues, things i can testify to from experience being there, but unless your child goes there, why would a school push you away from still living here?

Well it wasn't a joke. I was never sure living here all my life. I never even knew it was legal to raise chickens in JC until that ordinance was brought to light. I don't have a fox right now i just wondered if it was capable of legally owning. Is a Fennec fox possible since it is the smallest fox?

I looked at some dogs people have as pets and saw that they were wolves, so i just wondered if owning a fox was capable.

Since this is a thread about animals and animal control i have a question. Is it legal to own a fox in NJ, even from birth? I know they are a little harder to tame than a dog but is it possible at all to own a fox in this state, more specifically JC?
