Central Jersey, where my other beautiful home is. I mean let's face it - there's only so much wonderful art, small business, and great restaurants ( 30 Acres ) one can take.

I moved to JC because it was where I could afford to buy property, yet still be close to Manhattan, so the only place for me would be Manhattan - West of 6th Avenue, north of 23rd Street and south of 55th Street.

Great question! I've often wondered this since when/if I leave JC, I want to move somewhere with like-minded people! For better or worse, I'm committed to the Northeast though. Maybe Rochester? Corning? Ithaca? Or, in NJ, Lambertville?

Norfolk, Virginia if I'm homesick

Well maybe Norcia in Umbria or St. Malo in France. But really, Jersey City is the City of Hope and I'm really thankful to be here. But we may still buy a farm outside of Utica, NY.

If I were starting over, unencumbered by any of the factors one accumulates through a couple decades of adulthood, I wouldn't live within a thousand miles of here. Anywhere between SF and Vancouver would be high on the list. Colorado, west of Denver. Minneapolis. Sydney. Melbourne. Stockholm. Oslo. Copenhagen. Most of Germany, especially Berlin. Lots of Spain. Chamonix. Santiago. Buenos Aires. Coastal Uruguay.

Montclair, Astoria, Westchester nearby.

Austin, Raleigh-Durham, Minneapolis a little ways away.

I don't think I could deal with a city outside the US long term. Maybe Vancouver, Montreal or Toronto but I don't know a ton about them.
