Hilarious and so true. Is the parade tomorrow? The info I'm garnering from the web is scant at best.

I'm Puerto Rican and Irish and this is the only parade I look forward to in Jersey City. It is excellent.

lol, it is the best parade of the year. It is held, I believe, in honor of Our Lady of Copacabana, the patroness of Bolivia.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgen_de_Copacabana whose feast day is August 5th. I think the parade occurs on the closest Saturday to the actual day. It is an amazing parade. It used to be done out of St. Boniface Church (now condos). I guess its been moved to St.Mary's on Second Street.

Yes, I think usually on the first Saturday. But it isn't showing up on the JC Events calendar or anywhere. yet.

Bolivian parade coming to Jersey City on Saturday

I would hope so. But, as long as we don't get throngs of drunks and tons of litter afterwards, I will be happy enough.

If you haven't (even if you have) seen this before, I highly recommend it.

Link doesn't work for me.

Does it run down Jersey then left on Newark, right on grove like past years?

I think the poster meant http://bolivianj.org/ (fyui, it's in spanish)

If my memory serves me, there were some food stalls and some tables set up with handcrafted items from Bolivia for sale. I have been a fan of this parade since my family and I happened upon it while walking back from grabbing a cup of coffee one Saturday about four years ago. It is truly spectacular, the music, the costumes, everything. It's also wonderful for children to see a celebration of Bolivian culture. Our little one was dancing the entire time. I highly recommend this event!

Yep, I have to agree ? the Bolivian parade is the best! And, this year I'm back on Jersey Avenue so I'll have prime viewing. Thanks for the heads-up.

It's really fun to see the crazy masks and costumes the participants wear. Bring some earplugs 'cause the floats all have huge speakers and they like to crank it up!!
