Give the tax office a call at 201-547-5124 or 5125. Anthony Esposito is the Assistant Tax Collector.

Go to the city tax link below and enter your name or address. You should see the past, current and future payments. You can see whether your mortgage lender has paid the bill for august. They should have set an automated ACH payment out of your escrow account at closing to do that. And they should be receiving the tax bill. If not, contact your mortgage lender to correct this. Hope it helps.

Thank you very much for the prompt response.Do I need to communicate my lender about the 2% increase tax bill or is it something they would know eventually?
I will get in touch with city tax dept for address change but it?s not just tax all city related communications are going to my old address.

Typically, your lender will pay the increase and then adjust future mortgage payments to make up the difference.

You need to contact the tax office to change the mailing address. I think they require something in writing, but I don't recall exactly. Been 15 years since I had to do a mailing address change.

Anyone got a direct link to the online payment portal?

The link on the city website has expired. Looks like the web registration expired.

Just wait until the third year when the business tax max out at $80 million and the rest will be pass on to local property owners, minus tax abated and rent control buildings. This is a seven year phase-in period. The schools are actually short $200 million.

But seriously, folks.....has anyone heard a payment date for the 3Q bill for those on autopay through the city? The amount has been posted, but no date, and I can't get through to the tax office.

You are obviously incredibly smart since you know about the "climate change" scam. Can you please enlighten us that aren't aware what that is?

Yep, the same Democrats that keep taking us out of recessions created by Republicans.

The same Democrats who opposed the tax cuts put in place by the current administration, those tax cuts that limited your state and local tax write-offs. Those same tax cuts that cut taxes for billionaires and corporations, but actually wound up costing us in the middle class...

I'll take this post down if you take yours down.

I asked that question at the August 14th council meeting and the administration said it would arrive either Friday or Monday.

What is the new due date for the August bill? I haven't received mine in the mail to be able to send in the little voucher with my check, I do see the new taxes reflected online though. Sucks

LOL paying $40k on a rate of 1.62% means a valuation of $2.5mm. Take that $2.5mm property and pay the average state tax rate (I forget the exact, but spot it at 2.23% to be generous) and you'd pay $55061. So, yes, that person is getting a STEAL of a deal.

LMAO, Yvonne, you are a funny one. I'll give it to you though; at least you're consistently hilarious.

I agree with Yvonne, it's not about the rate it's the absurd assessment that hurts, although we here in the Heights section have been over charged for years now.

It's not absurd if someone is willing to pay it. And currently, there are many people willing to pay it.
