Huh? Who are you even lecturing on this?? No one said anything about Chipotle being healthy or low calorie.

Got it. I am not sure if any of their options are vegan, but you may want to check out Crisp NYC. They now have a location in the food court of Newport Centre. It is a yuppified version of falafel sandwiches, but very good and tasty. And, with the added bonus of being much healthier (in terms of calories) than the "lunch log" places like Chipotle and Moe's.

If you use Chipotle's nutrition calculator, which most people don't you will see that you are getting a high dose of fat, cholesterol, salt and calories. Not a healthy option. You can apply this to other places with a similar cuisine.

I'm vegan and Chipotle didn't work for me -- vegan sor option was salty and bad. I also never liked Bubby's it was really bland.

Huh!? Places like Chipotle and Moe's have succeeded in making customers believe they are buying "healthy" fast food by extolling their organic ingredients and ethically sourced meats, but in the end you are consuming inordinate amounts calories, just as many (or, more!) as if you were eating at McDonald's or Burger King. People just feel better about it because of their organic, non-gmo provenance.

Grove Path. At one time Bubby's was cooking healthy. I have not checked their menu in years however

I'm with you -- I am looking for a place that has some vegan choices without a lot of salt or oil -- anyone know any places Downtown, hoboken or in the Heights -- I go to Moe's in Edgewater sometimes. I miss Future/Taco King which would make things however you wanted. Cinco De Mayo on Central is just too salty and likely uses lard...

The secret of these Taqueria places? Lard. Cook with lard and you can get the similar results. But for me, no thanks I'll pass.

Happy Cinco de Mayo 2016: 20 great authentic Mexican restaurants in N.J.
By Peter Genovese | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com on May 05, 2016 at 10:30 AM, updated May 05, 2016 at 5:21 PM Taqueria Viva Mexico, 133 Morris St., Jersey City; (201) 433-3477. Can't get into immensely popular Taqueria Downtown? Try this small, quiet eatery tucked into the city's Paulus Hook neighborhood. There are a dozen kinds of tacos, and the chilaquiles and flautas are among the popular dishes. There are tables outside, too, if summer ever arrives. http://www.nj.com/entertainment/index ... taurants_for_cinco_d.html

Saw the owners cleaning up the day after the fire, but it appears to be stalled. Unlikely to open up any time soon. What a shame. They had a good product too.

It appeared that this place was water-damaged after a fire in the top floor apartment of its building last week. It was closed as of a couple days after the fire.
Anyone have any news on whether they've re-opened?

Glad to hear it's reopening. I walked past last night and the paper was down and the floors looked brand new.

At the risk of coming across as pedantic, can we please start using the right word? You don't peak into a window, you peek into it.
peak noun \?p?k\ : the pointed top of a mountain : a tall mountain with a pointed or narrow top : something that looks like a pointed top of a mountain peek verb \?p?k\ : to look at someone or something secretly especially from a hidden place : to look at something briefly : to show slightly : to be slightly visible

When I was walking by on Sunday (6/22) I stopped to peak into the window. A guy came out of the store and told me it would be re-opening this week.

Was able to peak into the window (though they are still mostly papered over) and it did, in fact appear that there were workers inside either replacing or repairing the floors. I saw the woman who I think is one of the owners inside, as well.
Seems encouraging. Looks like the reports of temporarily closing for renovations may be accurate. Hope that this is the case.

Walked by TVM on Tuesday and the windows were still papered over and it was still closed. Anyone hear anything new?
I'm hoping they're just renovating or taking a summer vacation.

Thanks Susan, I got scared for a second. I seriously don't know what I'd do without their chorizo burrito!

I was walking by on Friday and was told by workers that they were replacing the floors and reopening on Monday. I hope that's true.

We ordered occasionally from this place but they never updated the seamless estimated time. We ordered one night with an estimated 30-45 minutes window and the food wasn't there 2 hours later. The guys attitude when i called wasn't very helpful. Called seamless had it cancelled and refunded. Nobody told the driver he showed up and I had to tell him to take it back.
Never ordered again. That was about a year ago. Other places I had similar issues and never order from anymore. Bon Appetite John's Pizza--guy lit up a smoke 5 feet from my 2 year old in the sidewalk dining area during sat brunch (It's abhorrent tasting pizza anyway, think ketchup for sauce)
