FYI, we had a frozen pipe burst this morning. We called Byron Hutchinson (I think we woke him up), and he was there right away. Price was totally reasonable and he fixed us up quickly. We're going to have him back to permanently fix the problem by moving the chilly pipes.

Anybody have any experience with getting
the line hydro-jetted?

We've been very happy with Byron. Compared to people we've tried in the past we've found his prices reasonable, and he's responsive.

It might be worth paying for a video inspection of your pipe. They basically snake a tiny camera on an optical cable down the pipe and out to the street and you see every inch of what's inside it on a monitor in your basement. With luck it just needs a cleanout. The bad news would be if the pipe were busted (most common cause being tree roots) which isn't cheap. Good luck-

Spend the money and have a prom do this for you. Aside from taking the chance of damaging the pipes under the house, your money will be well spent when that shit slime comes oozing out all over your basement floor and then YOU have to clean it up! I got Byron and it was the best $500 I ever spent (and I do most ALL house work on my own)!

You can hire a router from Home Depot on 440, routing the main line is straightfoward as long as you have convenient access.

The hardest part is lugging those heavy routers into basements or upstairs.

Sounds like you need the main line routed out as it is partially blocked.

There are a number of drain cleaning services out there that can do this.

When I run the washing machine in my house, the tub in basement gets water and debris. Toilet in basement where washer and tub are bubbles and fills up with same debris. This happens but to a much less degree when shower upstairs is on.

Does anyone know what this could be caused by? Also any recommendations on who to call that is reliable and honest?
