Spend the money and have a prom do this for you. Aside from taking the chance of damaging the pipes under the house, your money will be well spent when that shit slime comes oozing out all over your basement floor and then YOU have to clean it up! I got Byron and it was the best $500 I ever spent (and I do most ALL house work on my own)!

Awesome Candice! Keep fighting for our rights as vehicle owners! I for one am never going to ride my skateboard or scooter or bicycle ANYWHERE in this town. God bless the motor vehicle! Car's are not going away...better to attempt to manage the chaos than to be disillusioned in thinking that we are all gonna ride our little scooters to work and lug my case of beer home balanced on my head!

So sick of all you ultra liberal idiots on this board. Using this BS logic, why don't we just let the police department and teachers hire some criminals to patrol our streets and teach our children. Why should it matter if they are a child molester or a con-man or thief, if they are out of jail, they paid for their crime ansd should be able to qualify for any job whatsoever. Lets just say FU to all the hard working folks out there who have not gotten arrested and charged with felony crimes. So, using the logic posed by many people on this thread, would you feel comfortable if your child is being supervised at school by a teacher or teachers assistant that has prior felony convictions for any crime whatsoever? How about we let domestic abuse violators work at women's shelters? How about letting felony criminals work in your day care center and play with your children. With this logic, why should we even have laws then.... or rules of any sort. Just let everyone run wild and let there be no consequences for anyone's actions. I think this is enough to get me some vicious responses...go ahead, get all over me now and keep defending this POS woman!

Yo thirstyquaker, how is the quality of their tap system? Do beers taste like they clean the lines frequently...did the beer have that fresh taste with good carbonation? I ask this because all too many beer boas nowadays are servicing sub par drafts due to neglected taps.

That video was one of the most amusing and satisfying clips I have ever seen. When you are not a governor anymore, you lose your clout and are treated the same as the rest of us! Show respect and you MAY get respect...don't mess around with those ladies!

Food for thought. Does anyone even realize that a hipster is the 21st century version of the original "hippie" . Those hippies turned into yuppies when they finally got jobs and made a few bucks. So your damned if you were a hippie and damned when you became a yuppie because the hippies made fun of you for selling out! Ya can't win...why can't we all just get along (for fear of sounding like Rodney)! Most of todays hipsters will be tomorrows yuppies whether they like it or not. So, even though this is a meaningless post, please feel free to tell me so, call me a geaser, explain how stupid I am & explain to me how much smarter and cooler you are than I! Peace and love to all..even you hate mongers out there!

Relax on Irish people..believe it or not, he just described my night out when my wife is away. An ice cold OE with Hollywood fried chicken is about as good as it gets for me! And depending on where you live, this night out with the wife, as Irish described, may be the norm for many JC couples with lack of funds! 30 Acres and Talde aren't the most friendly to the pocket y'all!

EXACTLY...those individuals living in the "luxury" highrises that get all of these tax abatements are the wealthiest of us all. So sad to see that the wealthiest get the tax breaks like this. There is no way anyone is gonna tell me/us that those millionaires living in these abated apartments are contributing their fair share. Not blaming them for picking up a good deal in an million plus condo, but it's true nonetheless! The tax money has to come somewhere ands in these cases, the RE taxpayers of JC cover the tab for the poor rich folks who pay almost nothing.

EZ Tow has a monopoly over all the towing in JC. Those skumbags hide in the lot and see where you walk. once you are off the Shoprite property, they swoop in and take your car. I had this happen once before I even got off the property. I confronted the 2 gioons about to take my car and had no luck with those idiots. I would have had to fight them to get car back. Those EZ Tow driivers are ex-cons that know how tom handle obnoxious idiots like myself, so they love the confrontations! EZ Tow is one of the most hated businesses in JC and has I along with 100s of people gunning for their demise!

So now we have to look at that crumbling eyesore for another 5 years until FOL gets kicked out...that place is a dump..granted FOL has done amazing things to keep that place afloat, but it's time to get out of the way and let Journal Squatre develop accordingly! C'mon FOL, everyone knows that y'all did great things, but it's time to eat your pride, step aside and let the big boys turn this into a world class performance space...not a place where 12 people go to pay 5 bucks to see cool movies from the 70s. Y'all must be tired of fighting and working for free by now...amazing that y'all have the gumption to keep the fight alive. I also commend FOL for having to gonads to resist and fight the machine and win...unfortunately, the machine's intentions are for the good of us all, not just a handful of well meaning souls!

Re: Is 'Gentrification' good for Jersey City?
#29

I used to live in Paulus Hook 15 years ago and I was gentrified out of that area when all the wall street money started discovering the area and made it ridiculously expensive for me! So, even white guys who do not make a ton of money get gentrified out of their chosen neighborhood. What can you do except welcome the development and hope some day that you will be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor and eventually make it back to a clean and safe neighborhood! So, now I find myself as a minority living in McGinley Square. Do people think that I came to this neighborhood to reap the benefits of future gentrification? I moved here 10 years ago out of financial necessity and the neighborhood has yet to see an ounce of change. Change is coming though and I will welcome gentrification to my hood with open arms because the neighborhood can only get cleaner, safer and more friendly as the "gentrifiers" replace the plastic siding with cedar shingles! Could care less if these gentrifiers are white , black, yellow, red or brown! This is only a racial issue if you look at it through racially tinted glasses.

4 flat tires will change his tune! Might have to do some old school social justice to make this old school idiot get the point. See him drinking at Healy's a couple of times only to get in that old jeep all buzzed up and speeding around Newark Ave with some old toothless hag next to him!
