This is what we should ask of all our potential leaders. Instead of answering questions like, "Are you running on healy's ticket," they answer us with Dr. Seuess quotes...

"Judge him by what he has done and not by who he associates with" makes no sense whatsoever. Isn't who he associates with a conscious decision? Doesn't associating with a corrupt, bad for JC in ever way imaginable drunk a bad decision? This isn't Dan was in the same room as Healy association. They are on the same ticket!

I'm voting for both Steve Fulop and Den Levin in 2013. I'm sorry that Steve did not put Dan on his ticket ( as Dan was willing to join him), but that does not diminish my admiration for these candidates. They have shown in the past that they have the best interests of their fellow citizens and constituents in the past and I feel confident that they will continue to do do in the future.
My 2 cents, if you disagree, it's a democracy, so be it. Just remember to register and vote

I for one, can't wait to vote for both Levin and Fulop! I will party like its 1999 if they both get elected. Not sure about who else I will vote for Council-wise, but no question that Levin has earned my vote over the last decade as a civic activist, and a level-headed thinker.

All you Fulop guys complain every time somebody points out his political manuvering. And then you complain when Dan Levin even thinks about an alliance.

Dan's proven his integrity and his commitment to downtown. If he chooses to run with Healy or anybody else, voters should consider him and what he'll do as Councilman. If you don't like the other guys on his ticket, don't vote for them. But Dan's earned his credibility.

It's with a heavy heart we won't support you. I sat down with you once during an event and told you the corruption we endured with the Permit Offices looking for pay-off's, about businesses we knew without a doubt had a Healy bat phone to make things just "go away". I met an ex-employee of Healy's in Florida and he told me he was squeezed out when he wouldn't play by Healy's rules.....going to the dark side is NOT a way to win honest votes. This is not a case of "better the devil you know". Big Mistake.

CatDog, Unless Dan Levin's explanation is, "one of my family members is suffering from a rare excruciating painful disease that will take his/her life and Healy has the only cure which he will give me if I run with him," I can't think of another reason why he would want to run with Healy that would make me vote for him....

"Changing the system from the inside?" Puh-lease

I was planning to vote for Levin before, though I do have second thoughts now. But still, vindication and citykid, let's wait to hear Dan's explanation before ranting about it.

Disagree. He's an opportunist and his desire to make a difference is not genuine. He just wants to hold office.

I vote the candidate, not the ticket. I'll be a lot more interested in what my councilman is going to do than all the political bs flying around.

If you want to win more than keeping your principles than you're not a good, or respectable, candidate.

Associating with a corrupt, thieving, status quo drunk on the chance that you may win says that you want to win, not that you have principles.

It's a win-win situation if Fulop's candidate wins or if Dan Levin wins both are worthy. Levin may win as an independent but siding with the Healy slate could mean that people may vote just by the row or column with Dan on the ticket you don't have to pick your poison. It would have been nice for Dan to side with Fulop but it would have been risky in case Healy's slate won and Dan was not involved with the winning slate. If not Dan I wonder who it will be ?

Anyone who wants to associate with and run on Healy's ticket is someone who has extremely clouded judgement. So if you run on Healy's ticket Dan, I hope you fail.

I have noticed Dan Levin for ward E council stickers up all over downtown. They do not mention Healy but they are quite
unsightly.

Dan cleared it up for me: He is talking to the Healy folks, but their ticket has not yet been officially announced.

So, he is being upfront in saying that he is talking with Healy. Guessing the announcment of the ticket will happen sometime in December.

I told Dan that I am happy that his voice will be part of the campaign, but that I am less-than-thrilled that it might be as part of the Healy team.

But a lot can happen in three months. So who knows how this will shake out.

Dan,
I just noticed you posted under this thread and not the "Jersey City's Levin throws hat in 2013 council ring", does this mean that you are on Healy's slate?

Like Mouse, I'm a little confused by your post.

Dan,

You note is not clear (to me). Are you or are you not running on the Healy ticket?

update - As a registered voter in Ward E, I will not be voting for you if you run on the Healy Ticket. I prefer to keep my shoes muck free. Best of luck if you get elected.

This is good news, Dan. With you representing Ward E and Fulop as mayor, the citizens of Jersey City will have a good chance at ethical, transparent government. You both have fought the good fight in the past, and we who know you are confident you both will do so in the future!

That's the craziest logic I ever heard.
If Dan needed to get to the Bank so he could withdraw money that would help his mother, would it be ok to ask a
Bankrobber for a ride?

Wait a minute, I am confused. Didn't "One Jersey City" Demand Healy's Resignation?

I thought I read somewhere that Esther Wintner was a member of the local Tea Party Alliance.

Is that true ? If yes, it gives a perspective on her possible partisan nature.
