Does anyone know what happened to this place? They're suddenly off Seamless and their windows are all papered over. It's strange cause they seemed to be doing good business. I walked by last Sunday and the place was full.

I'm going to be really bummed if they're closed as they're the best mexican delivery in JC.

I just went there on Sunday for brunch and it was AMAZING! First, they were open early, 10AM; the atmosphere, quaint and charming; service staffs friendly and attentive AND the food was amazing! My husband was so happy to find authentic Mexican breakfast and the proportions were very generous. I had tacos and it was dreamy. The prices were very reasonable too. It might be pet peeve for some but they serve shoe string fries which was awesome for my toddler child. Try this place, you will not be disappointed!

This place Is the shit, their tacos may not be as great as taquerias but all their other plates are outstanding! Their steak chilaquiles are AMAZING, and the nachos are what nachos should taste and be like everywhere else.

TVMKC is decent, not as good as Taqueria on Grove St. TVMKC steak tacos are decent but their pork tacos can't compare to Taqueria's. An acceptable substitute while Taqueria is closed.

Tried this place out the other night, very nice staff, and the food was good. However, I don't think either the fish or pork tacos hold a light to the tacquerias.

Checked this place out based on this post.

The waiter was extremely nice and accommodating. The food was on par with the "other" place. One person at my table ordered chips and guac app for herself but they brought out two orders (for the price of one) just because there were five of us.

Two thumbs up.

No, they do not have an online menu, yet. Call them, perhaps they'd read ya the menu :) They are super nice and the food was really great when I was there the other night. They are also willing to make non-vegetarian items vegetarian. So glad this place opened up.

Is this place related to Taqueria on Grove?

Went there tonight, and was very pleased. We had tacos (steak and chicken), rice and beans and chips and salsa. Everything tasted fresh and homemade.

AND they were friendly. Who knew?!

This place is AWESOME. Have gotten delivery from there twice this week and they put out an excellent product. Delivery was fast, food was hot and tasty. Highly recommend the steak burrito. Get the word out about this place!

My wife and I got delivery last night, enchilada verde, fish tacos. Best, most authentic Mexican food we have had on the East Coast. Highly recommend. What a great addition to the neighborhood!

That's great -- we often got food from Jose before he closed down...

They used to own the Kitchen Cafe truck.

The enchiladas with verdes sauce was light, fresh, and delicious. Very nice presentation.

Great info! Is it BYOB or do they have a bar?

Thanks, this is exactly the kind of post that makes this site worthwhile to me. Not living in Paulus Hook, it would probably have taken a walk with visitors before I stumbled upon this place.

Taqueria Viva Mexico 133 Morris Street Jersey City, NJ 07302 201-433-3477
View Larger Map New place in Paulus Hook on Morris Street between Warren and Van Vorst. Near Amelia's Bistro. They opened last Saturday and I've eaten there twice already. Fantastic food. Super friendly. The decor is everything other restaurants will probably hate. They have (delicious!) guacamole. The food is all homemade. It's owned and run by people that are actually from Mexico. They are open all day long--early for egg sandwiches etc. for breakfast through late night dinner. Seating for about 30, plus takeout and free delivery. (201) 433-3477 They have a VERY full menu. I assume it is connected to the former Kitchen Cafe that was on the corner of Sussex and Greene where delicious Rumi Turkish Grill is now because they also have burgers and other dishes as well as a catering menu in addition to the amazing Mexican fare. I'm certainly looking forward to supporting them for many years
