wait wait no I think I heard of this place called McDonalds that might have opened up a couple locations in NYC and JC and they're doing ok.

I mean damn dude there's two Mamoun's less than one mile from each other. There's hundreds of McDonalds and Starbucks. TGI Fridays everywhere. Applebees. Any chain.

damn you're right, a business could never open in Jersey City AND Brooklyn they'd be taking away business from themselves.

Definitely should have made the current Barcade location on Newark a neighborhood Italian eatery, you know, for families. Maybe they could hire latino cooks too, because nobody make-ah the good Italiano food like minimum wage help from latin america.

You like Rugby and you're racist so I don't think anyone is taking you too seriously. We all know what rugby is really about. Maybe you can beat or drink those thoughts out of your head. You know, the scrum is just part of the game...it's not odd to enjoy all that rubbing and grinding against the fellas. Is it?

Very happening bar scene and energetic and lively downtown. If there's one thing Philadelphians love more than their sports teams, it's booze.

Each time I pretend to be impressed with the progressive nature of Jersey City, I am astounded by the stupidity of her residents.

big whoop. before barcade it was an emptu WaMu. people would rather have an eyesore storefront than a few beards patronizing a business in this town.

Looks great. Very discouraging to read that the process of opening a bar/restaurant in JC is much more difficult than in NYC ... wth??

I'm not a huge fan of those high school cafeteria chairs!

Is it beer-only...or will there be liquor?

I suspect on or about April 21, that bar will be very busy.

Sneak Peek: Barcade?s Jersey City Location Set to Open Next Week
By Melissa Surach ? Apr 13th, 2011

After about a year of planning and construction, Barcade Jersey City is set to open to the public next week. Co-owner Paul Kermizian says the highly anticipated American craft beer bar/arcade has officially passed all inspections and will open around April 21, though he says the specific date won?t be known until the end of this week.

Barcade Jersey City will feature 24 drafts, one cask, and 33 vintage video games. The location marks the second in a growing Barcade franchise; the original opened in Brooklyn?s Williamsburg neighborhood in 2004, and another will soon open in Philadelphia. It begs the question ? why in the world did the owners choose this town?

What a weird place for a bar.

Sorry for any confusion. I was not referring to the bar that's opening on the corner of bright/monmouth (which I have heard is opening soon), but to the dance club on the corner of bright/varick.

Dear friends, We were very close to being ready to open but we were told to add some additional sprinklers. Consequently, our architectural plans and calculations need to be re-drawn and then approved by the city, which takes time. Hope to resolve this setback soon.

With the classic Jersey shrug o' the shoulders "I don't make the rules". "But my cousin does". Buncha douches running things round here.

jesus....JC will always be a third (or fourth)-rate city.

every once in a while, the BF and I start talking about opening a coffee shop here in JC. and then we laugh and laugh...

Simple solution:
just put a flag up outside with a sign that says members only and call it a "social club"
