I can vouch for Mark Blanchard a.k.a. the Catman @ The Cats Meow Services, permanantly owns a key to my house and has an alarm code. That's how much we trust him! Have been using him for about 8 years now.

We've used Mark Blanchard for eight years, with four cats. He came to our apt downtown and now comes to Bergen-Lafayette. He gives pills and other meds, fluids for renal failure, brushes them, feeds canned food, disposes of litter, brings in mail and newspaper, etc.

He even came the day one of my cats was euthanized to say goodbye a couple of months ago. He is wonderful. He also has people who cat sit themselves and who help out when he's unavailable. Here's his email: catman@catsmeowservices.com

CatmanJC is a great cat sitter. We've hired him several times, and highly recommend him. I think our cats would, too, if they could. He's reliable and professional, and also clearly loves cats!

I've never met a cat that does not like this. It's only a wire with 2 cardboard bits on either end. Most stores sell for 5 dollars. On sale, you can pick it up for 2 or 3 bucks. The person who invented it must be rolling in $ as there are about 60 million domestic cats in the US.

Off topic: I don't know why -- but this cheap & perhaps kind of dangerous toy is really the thing cats love most. It is merely few twists of cardboard & a spring wire.

We just had him care for our four cats while away for a week. He is absolutely amazing. He really knows how to handle cats and when he came to interview the cats it was obvious that he really cares about them. He sent us email updates as well as left us a really detailed note card upon our return. It was so amazing to come home to a clean house, he did such an amazing job! Usually we always come home to a litter box mess or other sort of nonsense. I simply cannot say enough good things about this man's services and would recommend him ten times over again!

Another option is "the Cat's MEOW Services" which because of demand has expanded from just Hoboken and downtown Jersey City to the Heights and other areas of Jersey City plus a few in Manhattan.

Croft, you don't service downtown do you (hamilton Park -cat sitting visits)? I'm just looking for some options as I'm going away for two+ weeks overseas end of August and a friend is coming to feed my older cat once a day but not sure at this point if she can do the full 17 days. So just want to have a backup plan....

Croft is pretty awesome, I met her at Liberty Humane Society. I would definitely trust her with my animals.
