Speaking of costs, will this impact the Whole Foods that is supposed to be built across the street?

It was unintended use of the escalator handrail.... so i don't think there is any liability claim. Sorry that she died doing this silly prank. Her twin sister must live with the awful fact that she did nothing to prevent it.

Agree. How many ppl have used the escalators since it opened? How many have "fallen" off ?

What's ridiculous about the escalators? And, so ridiculous that it should have been foreseen thus making the PA negligent and worthy of being sued??

Riding down an escalator is about as simple a task as a human brain could do: hop on, and hold on to hand rail.

Any lawsuit against the PA will likely get tossed, or fail. Justifiably.

I hope they are able to scrub the marble floors clean. Sorry to hear about this accident. It doesn't make sense how someone can fall from an escalator????

The donuts are great! Coffee, however, is only average but is relatively cheaper than Dunkin- i think the cost of a medium at KK is the same price as a small one at DD.

They do a lot of work for Broadway set designs. Great work. I had slipcovers made for cushions and also headboard. Very satisfied.

CVS charges 13$ for 2 pics. I used the Passport Booth app (free) on my phone and had a friend take a pic for me using the app. Printed it out at work on photo paper and it was good to go. No problems.

It is hard to explain but it usually happens when I order a two-day delivery and Amazon says it is coming the next day. I wait in anticipation for it at home and despite being home I get a failed delivery notification. It shows up the next day (day 2).

I love DTJC as it is where I live. However, i'd like to see the study methodology, parameters and data. It is hard to believe that a small gritty city like JC can beat out other nice urban US cities.

Does anyone know what the loud shouting was going on last Sunday? I saw lots of muslims gathering and shouting but had no idea what was going on. The shouting was rather scary.

If the couple received city approval prior to the renovation, why won't the city honor the committment? Why would the city insist on a new approval when one has already been provided?

No one is following rules and rules are not being enforced.

i see many drivers who go beyond the speed limit on busy streets in downtown JC (i.e., Columbus, Montgomery). Recently, I even saw one make an illegal right turn on red near the postoffice on Montgomery, whilst a traffic cop was in front of them and cop did not stop or do anything.

I also see dumb pedestrians crossing against the light while busy texting. Those are the inattentive ones who deserve to be hit. Crazy people everywhere.

Actually, the ban on pit bulls is discriminatory and without merit. More dog bites despite pitbull ban:

Good convenient spot for coffee, but nothing sets it apart from other places where you can pick up coffee (Starbucks, Au Bon Pain, Lackawanna, Warehouse, etc.). They only serve pastries, no breakfast sandwiches. Coffee is good though.

I've dismissed this restaurant for a long time in the past as it only served dishes catering to westerners. And, i did not like the idea of a blended thai, japanese, etc... menu. However, with the recent additional dimsum offerings, i skeptically decided to give it a try.

I loved it. It's not as innovative compared to the refined dimsum restaurants in Hong Kong or Vancouver, but rather, it is more old school "cha lou"-style/traditional shrimp and pork dumplings. I was more than well sated, however, as were my other finnicky friends.

Enjoyed it so much, that I've been going there 5 times within the past 2 weeks. Great quality and beats a schlep to chinatown. Plus, it's served all day, so no waiting for weekends. The owner informed me that the newly hired chef, from Hong Kong, is bringing more cantonese styled dishes (menu is being expanded and reprinted). Had the garlic chicken last night (not on menu but on the billboard outside) was reminiscent of Congee Bowery's signature garlic chicken dish. Quite yummy. I'm optimistic about this restaurant now :)

I love the menu at UR. Quality has been very good. Sad to see it go. The times I've been there have been fairly sparse. One would think a restaurant that great would draw people willing to walk a few extra blocks from the main drag.

I like the minimalist look, but was underwhelmed that the whole edifice was 4billion. I guess the infrastructure and building around the working trains was a large part of the expense, but i was hoping for more interesting offerings besides run of the mill shops you can find in soho/ short hills or westchester mall. Nothing really stood out. And the Lacoste display in the middle of the belly looked pretty sad and sterile. And, if I'm not mistaken the only retail was on the 2 levels of the carcass and the passageway to WTC4?

I too hate the idea of the parking deck garage but the residents are losing their parking area and need a place to park their cars and it probably doesn't make sense to build an underground parking area since that area does flood .
