Looks like this place (which was now just called Lotus) is closed with brown paper on the windows and a sign that says ?closed for maintenance?. Anyone know what?s going on? Personally the 2x I ate there I didn?t think it was that good. Wondering if ?closed for maintenance? means permanently closed and we?ll be getting something else in that space.

I take it when I know there are issues with the Path or I want to sit down during my commute to NYC. Coming from Jersey City you always get a seat which I really appreciated last year when my back gave out and couldn?t stand. Also it?s more of a direct commute for me as I work on 46th street. That being said the buses don?t always come on time and it?s more $$ then the PATH.

Secaucus Animal Hospital. We are huge fans of Dr. Hatch now. His practice was incredibly supportive throughout the process of deciding to put our cats to sleep (one in late 2016, and the second one in late 2017) and we would highly recommend him.

Dr. Hansen is now part of a practice that makes house calls. If we had a need for a vet to make a house call, we would also heartily recommend her.

I go to Secaucus Animal Hospital too and I was wondering what happened to Dr. Hansen. I really liked her.

Many years ago I used to take my cat to the groomer who was located at the Hoboken Animal Hospital. They were located in the basement and I took my cat there to get her nails trimmed every couple of weeks (she would NEVER let me do them, it was always a fight). I would call Hoboken Animal Hospital to see if the groomer is still there.

Reviving this thread. Does anyone have any good recommendations? I have some engagements rings that were passed down in my family that I really need to get values on. If anyone has someone good and trustworthy I would appreciate it. I'm not picky about location, can be NYC or somewhere in Jersey.

Thanks.

Everytime I drive to Target from HP, I see that mess. It's a free for all. I feel bad for the people that work in that Statco Warehouse, I honestly have no idea where they park their cars now. Also some of the tenants in those new buildings have begun to park very close to active loading docks. I saw a tractor trailer trying to maneuver around all the cars last week. I wonder if eventually they'll put up some sort of parking regulations there. If they do it will most likely be after all the new apartment buildings there are built and the roadway is paved.

From the looks of the pictures, I thought the only damages were the canopy and the structural integrity of that is in question. It didn't seem like the train hit the actual station walls. Although from the looks of it, it came quite close.

Try Morton Williams supermarket in Newport, they carry quite a lot of Asian products and I think they do have gochujang there, although not sure about ssamjang.

The two exits along Greenwich Street the lead up to the memorial plaza in front of 3WTC are also completely unfinished. All of that could be remedied between now and March, but if that is the current state of the exits that we can actually see, I'd bet that the various exits that are out of our sight are also a long way from being commuter ready.

Those two exits on Greenwich St are actually the steps down to the new Cortlandt Street station for the 1 train. God knows when they're going to open that.

Does anyone know what they're doing with the entrance to the mall (via the escalators) on Washington Avenue? Can be confusing for people coming from the Newport PATH trying to figure out how to get into the mall (not that it was that clear before but......).

This happened to me. I called them up and they said "no yiu didnt recently serve." I said yes i absolutely did. They finally looked me up and found that i had mutiple accounts. Their data systems are so awful they can't or don't even run basic de-duping of address records coming in from DMV vs other sources. My two records resulted from one showing '2nd St' and the other having street spelled out. Ridiculous...and explains why it felt like I was getting called all the time. But i will say that the person who picked up the phone was super helpful once she realized i was telling the truth.

I agree their systems *are* awful. This happens to me all the time, so now I keep all records of my jury duty participation so I have proof of serving when I said I did.

Apparently that stuff is unenforceable, look up the story of the Synagogue on Grove that is now a mosque. They tried to put in the deed that it could never be a house of worship other than Orthodox Jewish, the new buyers did what they wanted.

If a church turns a property into rentals, does it still pay no tax?

Also the Synagogue that was turned into condos on 5th street between Erie & Manila. I've always been curious about that one, old wooden Synagogue with beautiful windows.

I've been parking at the mall now for over a year and I've never had a problem. I noticed many of us Hamilton Park monthly users park on the second floor (covered and less traffic), closer to the Marin side of the lot. There's a guy who parks near me who I've noticed leaves his car there for weeks without using (it's been covered in dust a few times). I would give it a least a shot for a month and see how it goes. You can't beat $100 a month.

The line forms in the corridor that connects the Newport Mall to the Office tower (in the glass pedestrian bridge). If you stand in line, make sure you're on the ATT store line and not the Verizon line. The ATT line should be on the left side facing the mall entrance. Good Luck!

When the jets take that approach I never find the noise that awful, at least from Hamilton Park (those in the westernmost areas of JC might have another opinion). Seeing the jumbo jets make that crazy turn east and then west has always fascinated me. That east/west runway is much shorter then the north/south ones isn't it? Must not be an easy landing or approach, especially for the larger jets.
