That is interesting. Maybe they are sharing the rent. I remember at one point, they were both at Liberty Tower.

Destination Jersey City reports that they are opening at 24 Mercer St. This is odd because another thread below says that the owners of the Luncinda's Creperie food truck are opening their restaurant there.

Finally got some galbi tacos - this is the Bomb! the basic beef taco at $2.50 is excellent, lots of onions and a small wedge of lime. Meat is very tasty, add some kimchi, it really brings out the flavor. not too crazy about the sesame chicken, but i guess not everyone eats beef/pork.

Excellent addition to the JC food scene. Love the Krave!

Death breath, haha... Krave should give out gum. Better yet, tic tacs and tacos go hand and hand, no?

If you like onions, and lots of them, then the Krave truck is for you.

I finally had the chance to try the Krave Truck and Lucinda with the BFF tonight. Tried the kalbi and the spicy pork tacos from Krave, and the grilled skirt steak taco from Lucinda.

The Korean tacos were very good, and I can't wait to try their other menu items. I'll definitely be back.

Lucinda's steak taco, however, was a letdown. Meat was dry and a little bland. Mind you, I ate this one first since I had a feeling the Korean tacos were going to be much more flavorful. For Mexican tacos, I'll stick with Downtown Taqueria on Grove. I just hope they won't learn of tonight's infidelity.

Free Korean Hot Dogs and a Newish Korean Taco Truck

Tue, Sep 29, 2009

...And while we?re on the subject of Korean fusion, did?ja know there?s a Korean taco truck in Jersey City? The Krave, which was clearly inspired by L.A.?s Kogi truck and bills itself as ?the Official New Jersey Korean BBQ Truck,? launched last month and serves ?kimcheedillas,? as well as sesame-chicken and kalbi short-rib tacos.

Most nights you can find it at Columbus and Marin, outside of the Grove Street PATH station where a Mexican taco truck, El Imperio, also parks. AC in the JC, baby!

When I was running errands yesterday, I spotted the bright green Krave Truck east of the Grove Street PATH Station along Christopher Columbus Drive near Club H Fitness.

So I decided to swing by and grab some grub. Even though it was raining, there was a line of about 4 people in front of me -- which I figured had to be a good sign.

The guy who took my order was super friendly and patiently walked me through their menu. I ordered 1 of each kind of taco -- Sesame Chicken, Galbi (Short Rib Meat) and Jae Yook (Spicy Pork).

My food was ready in well under 5 minutes and, once I could find some shelter, I devoured my food.

How did it taste?

The Galbi and Spicy Pork tacos had more depth of flavor than the milder Sesame Chicken taco. But I dug the chopped onions, cilantro flecks and fresh lime juice that came with all 3 of my tacos as well as the fiery sauce that came on the side.

I hope they continue to park near the Grove Street PATH station -- I could easily see myself grabbing dinner there a few nights a week.

YUM!

1....Almost anyplace except the one they were in was ok. Last night they and lucinda did double park but only for 5 minutes or so and that is totally understandable.

2....I'll concede my post may have been a little trivial but I guess I wanted to vent a little and dig at the police.

3.....Hardly a boycott. I ate there last night and it was good.

4....My roomie thinks its absolutely hysterical that you called me pious....he has been laughing his ass off and really giving me the business.

Walking down Columbus last night I was happy to see the Krave Truck and Lucinda's just west of Club H. Chub H also had a grill going. I wish the John Soup Kitchen from Exchange Place would stay around for the evening crowd.

Grabbed one of each of the tacos at Krave and was a happy man. Seem like decent guys and nobody ashed in my taco. I just wish they had some bulgogi.

Columbus, near Club H, is very wide and there is room for parking along the curb w/out interfering with the 4 lanes of traffic. (A decade ago there was talk of running the Light Rail along Columbus rather than Essex for this very reason.) Unless the Krave truck was double-parked there shouldn't be any traffic issues. I've seen the Krave truck dutifully and politely parked at the curb near the newer PATH entrance on my commute home every night - it's possible the owners were waiting for a parking slot to open up as there is a steady turnover of cars parked outside Club H.

Regardless, I am not so pious as to boycott a business for something so trivial, but to each his own.

Really??? Pretty sure it wasn't a dream....for the record they were not parked there at 5:45 tonight (along with another taco truck) but were further down in a safe spot. I'm going back for tacos later cuz they were not set up yet....If they have moved back to obstructing traffic I'll be sure to take pictures for you. Hopefully you have nothing to do with controlling parking in our fair village which would explain a lot.

I really do try to limit making purchases for reasons of conscience and of course I'm not perfect but I do try. As I said before I had the money out, so I wanted to support them and enjoy some food. Next time they are parked correctly and not impairing traffic on a major road, which I hope they do, I will buy from them. Like I've said at least two other times on this board, anyone that works hard, gives back to community and provides a quality product deserves support.....I eat out more than at home and go out of my way to spend money here in Jersey City where I live and not in Manhattan where I work.....They tried to pick a high traffic location for business reasons and didn't give due consideration to community safety. (which is taking from the community) Should have been moved by the police in my opinion. I want them to succeed just like I want no one to get in an accident because the truck was parked at that location......... At the end of day it probably doesn't matter. They seemed quite busy without my ten bucks and obviously the police either don't care or are motivated to look the other way.
