Sometimes I do the walk when I feel like it, its only about 10 mins or so, but on a hot, muggy, or rainy day?no thanks. I wish they had a covered bike rack at my office here, I would ride in a heartbeat most days. There also must be another reason for having a shuttle/jitney/bus/buggy as Dixon Mills has one and they don?t fit any of the categories you mentioned in my opinion.

The mere existence of a Shuttle implies 1 of 2 things (neither of them very positive) - a) the building is in a bad section of town and residents don't feel comfortable walking to the PATH or b) the building is so far away from the PATH that they need the shuttle to get there in a timely manner. Or it could be a combo of both, but if both of the above statements were untrue, why would there be a need for the shuttle? The whole us vs. them debate is getting very tiresome. It's true that many renters and/or wanna-be property owners are engaging in a little schadenfreude at the expense of Beacon owners and many Beacon owners are overly defensive about their purchase and feel the need to respond to every thing that is said about *their* property. At the end of the day it's the typical message board discussion of divergent viewpoints where one side will never convince the other of the rightness/wrongness of their opinions. The Best you can hope for is to correct any outright lies about the subject. You'll never be able to put an end to snarky comments. I guess in short: Can't we all just get along!?

Sheeesh...you always have to get the last word. I hope they ARE happy there, we need to keep the good guys going. But please realize that we are happy too, you said yourself you want to see The Beacon succeed. I sincerely love it here as do the others who have posted, you could be happy for us too, not just the area, but whatever floats your boat.

groovlstk: No one was posting Beacon porn---Xerxes bashed our shuttle service, using jitney as it is usually used here, to mean a low class service. I defended it, which is easy to do since if anything is amiss with one shuttle they put one of the others in service and promptly fix any problems. AS far as comparing it to 77 Hudson it is apples and oranges. 77 Hudson is closer to the water but if you don't have a northwest view it is kinda boring. The windows are nice and high but there are a zillion towers that are glass and steel monoliths. Our building is too cool from the 20's through 40's and they ain't makin' 'em like this anymore. AND this thread is supposed to be about THE BEACON right? So we have the right to post what we like, YOU certainly do, as long as it follows forum rules. Sure new buyers don't hurt my property values but I am not a landlord or real estate mogul, just own my own and I love it here. By the way--don't forget you are invited anytime for a tour.

This is one of my favorite places I have lived in. It is awesome, as is the shuttle. My purchase was NOT stupid. All other places in the US are in the same boat as The Beacon but don't have the amenities or the style. Why are you going back to the bashing of The Beacon? Our developer won the contract to develop the retail where Montgomery Gardens is and an experienced mixed income housing developer is doing the residential in partnership. I am excited.

Everyone has the right to opinion but continuously downplay or bash others interest is low. For those of you who have no interest in Beacon, I?m really curious why you are here the first place? So, I started analysis what is the motive behind all these bashing:
1. If you have real estate interest in JC, Beacon success is good news for you because of property value gain. Even if you are from the competitor such as CP and 77H, pervious statement should still true. 2. If you have no real estate interest in JC but continuously trolling this particular thread, Beacon success must do you no good. Perhaps you are one of those to be evicted resident living in Mongol Gardens? 3. You are envy as simple as that. I tend to believe 2 is the right one, just didn?t realize Mongol Gardens is Internet ready.

bus: a vehicle carrying many passengers; used for public transport; Shuttle goes the gamut from a feathered badminton item. A high speed train or a high speed JET, a tool going back and forth feeding yarn Just because the Beaconettes would like to overamplify their life experience perhaps to drive up real estate prices, the word SHUTTLE is deceptive because it almost always implies high speed not some hokey-pokey cab substitute going a couple blocks through an unsafe part of time to connect to a REAL shuttle, like the PATH train. A small bus going a couple blocks is a jitney...a jet to Boston is a SHUTTLE. And as for the moron analyzing choices of avatars, mine is simply from the small choice that the board proferred when I joined. If these are not acceptable to you take it up with the webmaster. Don't feed trolls and DON'T try to sell your real estate. If you made a stupid purchase don't blame others...accept your mistake with a bit of grace. Don't BE a troll.
