don't you know hipsters now fashion themselves after 1970s lumberjacks. as for most of my friends who have always worn glasses (BECAUSE THEY"RE BLIND) you're safe to wear them again w/out fear of retribution from the likes of brian_em and his average joe posse. now lets get back to playing kickball, as this has a striking resemblance to the bs i used to hear during recess. right before i got hit in the head for being a band nerd.

The worst thing for any community is to have people around who think that treating others with intolerance and disrespect is a good thing to do.
Hating on people different than you, from any side of the spectrum, might not seem as damaging as say, irresponsible people shooting guns into the air or drunks yelling at each other in the streets, but it still gives people an bad impression of the city, at a time when random violence and corrupt government have already tarnished whatever thin veneer of pride for Jersey City might be left, or progress others try to make towards keeping JC a nice, inclusive place for all different types of people to live.

Ohhh ok...
As said, I graduated from a liberal arts school...and have a lot of debt so not a trustafarian. I went for a long time without shaving and am vegetarian so would have considered myself more of a hippie but I shave nowadays...definitely not a hipster EVEN though I am from the midwest. Now I am going to business school and work for a University. Maybe I am just confused...?

Mathias, that article was interesting, and brings up the main reasons why I dislike hipsters. When the history books look back at our generation, we are going to be remembered for remembering. It's pathetic.

This is a city. Cities by nature are inhabited by all types. I was just chastized in the Daily Dose thread for not being aware of a certain style of clothing, and now there is a thread on hating people of other types.
For the record, I also think hipsters are a little weird.
