The comparison of violent crime statistics between countries is often problematic due to the way different countries classify crime. Valid comparisons require that similar offences between jurisdictions be compared. Often this is not possible because crime statistics aggregate equivalent offences in such different ways that make it difficult or impossible to obtain a valid comparison.

For example, the UK classifies violent crime as all violence against the person, sexual offenses, and robbery whereas the US counts five categories of crime as violent crimes: murder, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, and simple assault.

So your point is moot.

They are remodeling a building on that street and I think they shut down the street to do some of the underground stuff. They were jackhammering the street early this morning.

Are you serious or just trying to provoke a reaction out of people?

Either way, comparing this little girl to the Hofstra woman is just plain wrong.

Could not have said it better myself. Also, pedestrians tend to cross there and when drivers jump the light they endanger them.

Is it really worth it for the extra ten seconds?

Thats easier said than done. I don't know if the victim was really thinking that straight after being bitten by a dog. It probably all happened in less than a minute.

Budget Taxi takes me to the airport from downtown for $25. To me, its worth the extra money to leave home at a reasonable time.

I would suggest he take a stroll around Liberty State Park. There really is no better way to represent the city. I would also suggest a nice meal at Madame Claudes or Soul Flavors.

You just never get tired of coming into crime threads and spewing your nonsense. It accomplishes nothing.

PS, when you ask a question, use a question mark.

That said, if you know in advance you are leaving, you are more likely going to have a happier landlord to deal with if you give notice. Thats if you care about your landlord at all or want all of your security back. (landlords can come up with many reasons not to pay you back the security)

Finally a sane person shows up. I almost did a double take, like I read his post wrong. If anything, Iwitness is closer to the truth. I was just pointing out the opportunities are out there. Yes, the ladies haven't gotten full equality just yet, but we are making strides. To imply they have it better because of alimony and maternity leave is off-the-mark.

Iwitness, I see your point and its valid, but you have to admit, 50 years ago, women had it much worse.

The proof is all around you. We dont need an amendment to prove we are all equal, just look at all the women in the work force, our secretary of state, our most recent supreme court judge. You seriously think women don't have ample opportunity in this country?

No chip, I just feel if women are going to take us to task for not standing, they should be held equally accountable.

Well the idea that men need to give up their seat harkens back to the days before we were all equal, and thats all I am saying. I fully agree its about manners, and I would happily give my seat up to a preggers or a old person, but so should an able bodied woman. Thats all I am saying. Its not all on guys shoulders.

I've said it before on here and I am going to say it again:

Its not just the man's responsibility to get up for a pregnant woman. Women should do it too. Why? Because this is not 1953.

You fought for equality and won. You can't have it both ways ladies.

Jenny,

come on. Thats not an apt comparison. I agree that everyone should leash their dog, but the last time I checked, the number of fatalities related to drunk driving outnumbers the dog leash fatalities by alot. Aren't you being a tad overdramatic? Jaywalking is illegal too, and I can assume you may have done that once in your life.

That being said, this guy has a serious problem. I think I saw him near the Path this morning. Had a gold chain on? Not the bald dude. This guy looked like Bob the neighbor on That 70's show.
