I recommend Saigon I've been eating here since it opened. And this was way back when I still was in High School with the kids of the Cafe Saigon owners.
Good family Good food.

Just don't understand this logic. Nha Trang probably has 20 things under $10 that I find delicious - why would I not eat there just because I don't like some of the other items? Meanwhile Saigon Cafe is expensive enough that if I'm going to bother with it I'd rather just go somewhere better.

We eat here at least once a month. We've never been disappointed. The food is great, the staff friendly. Highly recommend!

The pho at Nha Trang is my miracle hangover cure. Actually, any kind of illness cure now that I think about it. And great for icky, rainy days.

This is a stupid debate, the two places are very different cuisine for the most part. Saigon is somewhat of a nuevo-fusion Vietnamese, with things like grilled trout, while Nha Trang is more of a traditional Pho Shop menu of soups and grilled meats, generally cheaper and more generic like most Pho shops, but very good in it's own right.
Both are good, it depends on what you are in the mood for.

Yes. I would recommend this place over the other Vietnamese resturant in JC anyday... You won't be disappointed.

Dude, JSalt..why would you continue to eat at a place with that ratio of 'chinese food'...when it's a vietnamese place...give the Cafe Saigon a shot, trust us. You go once, you'll say good bye to that other crappy place

Nha Trang's menu is tough. About 1/3 to 1/2 of it IS like Chinese takeout, but there are tons of good dishes as well. I recommend the ones in the center of the menu under "House specialties." I also like the hot & sour chicken soup, the pho, the whole fish dishes, the Vietnamese water spinach and the grilled beef and pork dishes.

I agree, Saigon Cafe is excellent. I've been eating there for years and have never had a bad meal. The service is always good and the prices are reasonable. I recommend the summer rolls appetizer, beef vermacelli, salmon curry & peppercorn squid meals. Plus I love the vietnamese beer they have. I'm continually suprised & dissapointed that this place always looks empty.
I ate at Nha Trang once a while back and didn't like it, the food reminded me of bad Chinese takeout. Perhaps I caught them on a bad night, I've heard good things from other people. But why go back when there's an excellent place basically across the street?

More people should be trying this place. It's on Newark Avenue, next to the Bank of America, across from the Pet Supply store.
It's family owned, authentic, clean, and the dishes are good. Prices are fair too.
