Or maybe if they didn't pay such huge bonuses for running their banks into the ground this branch would still be open...

Hopefully they wait till the grass starts growing back before they re-open the park. If they don't we are going to have a mud/dirt field all summer..

OK. If you were going to walk up the escalator why not use the stairs? I can see walking up the escalators at Exchange Place... But at Grove it would have been faster to walk up the stairs...

And I wouldn't have questioned the guys manners... I would have mentioned to him that next time it might do him some good to walk up the stairs rather then being a lazy fat ass... Of course I would have made sure I could run away.. :)

Rather then the dog owners washing their dogs feet?

The only reason I can think of people using the Children's Park is that they are too lazy to clean their dogs from all the mud in the rest of the park...

Laziness and indifference is a bad combination...

I can see why they would...

I mean the park is a mess right now, all that mud and all....

Why should they let their dogs run in mud only for them to have to clean up their dogs later when they get home...

It would be so much easier to be disrespectful to your neighbors then to take the 10 minutes to clean up your dog before you take them home....

How many people/dogs are we talking about?

I understand that in a city there aren't many places you can have your dog run around, but to feel that you have a right to every corner of the park is pushing it.. Especially this time of year when there aren't many people in the park and you basically have free run of the whole park...

I wonder what is going to happen this spring when I bring my pet frog to the park...

If only they would bring back their flank steak with tequila sauce over steak fries!!!

Aside from that, Whitestar is a great local bar with a good scene of locals and younger people who don't feel the need to crush you at the bar as your getting a beer...

Simple:

cost over-runs, mismanagement, they lost some of their top donors, and probably the worse; they failed to advertise 'before' they opened...

Add in increased costs, poor day-to-day management, and their unwillingness to cull their staff before there was an catastrophic budget crisis...

Basically they ran it like a non-profit till they realized the money wasn't coming in...

This is something that has been bothering me for awhile about JC and it's dog owners... Why would someone get a large dog in such a crowded urban area, where the only places to truly let your dog be a dog is in public parks and areas...

Smaller dogs and even medium sized dogs, yes. They are def. suited for a more urban environment.. But dogs like Shepards, Rottweilers, Huskies, etc aren't... Why as a dog owner would someone want to put their animal through it?

Just doesn't make sense to me....

I really can't see this bread of dog being overly aggressive...

Found this about the breed of dog trying to place what the breed looks like...

".... is very good with children and makes a great family dog. They are, again, not known for being aggressive unless they are in a circumstance where their family, especially their family's children, are threatened. They will become intimidating defenders in this case, and even courageous."

Leashes aren't only for the protection of others, but also of the protection of the dogs.... Keeping the dogs on their leashes; and this is a non-issue....

Oh, it gets better.... 21st Century gets bonuses for running the trains on time... So how does 21st Century do this? they run stops if they are behind schedule!!!

Nothing like only worrying about your bottom line and not service....

Actually the Light Rail isn't ran by NJTransit. They lease it out to the 21st Century Rail Corporation to run and maintain. So I am not sure what responsibilities NJTransit has in regards to policing the Light Rail...

Actually, one of the best things you can do is 'green' a roof.

It is one of the best insulators out there, cutting down on heat lose in the winter and decreasing solar absorption during the summer. All of which saves fuel.

It also helps with rain runoff, which happens to be one of the biggest coastal polluters.

If you want, then add a solar energy system on the roof.

Re: Security Deposit

At times I wonder if landlords actually know their own rights and what they are supposed to do and not supposed to do.

Few years ago my landlord decided that he was going to renovate the apartment above me. No big deal, I figured most of the work would be done during the day and maybe a few weekends... Wrong; demoliton on the apartment started day after Christmas and proceded for about a month or two. In the mean time I had gapping holes in the roof, shattered fixtures, and cracks in the walls caused by the construction....I Notified the landlord what was going on and he was indifferent.... then I mentioned to him that he doesn't have permits to be doing this type of work (he had no permits at all) and only then did he tell the contractors to be more consiterate. So after a few months of construction he got a nice apartment and one irate tenant....

By the end of my lease I notified him (via certified letter) that I will be moving out and I will be using my security deposit as my last 1.5 months of rent. He never bothered to notify me that the deposit was/where banked as required by NJ law. Figured I wasn't going to have him use my security deposit to fix the mess the construcition of upstairs made... Needless to say he wasn't happy with that.

I've participated in this event in years past (though not since they moved to Seaside Heights).. It is for a good cause (NJ Special Olympics) and I always had a blast...

'It was freaking freezen' is an understatement.. I think the longest I ever lasted in the water was for 30 seconds (usually just jumped in head first) and it took a week for my balls to drop back to their regular position... It is that cold..

Glad to hear some of JC finest taking part.
